Nothing to say. The place is Ok. The cost is really good.
The location is great, next to the S-Bahn, trams and close to the U-bahn, you can rent bicycles or walk. The fernsehturm is about a 30-40 min walk. We had a private double, which was small, but cheap and clean. So the price-value was good. The breakfast is very standard and In my opinion to expensive. Nice coffee-places and spots to have a good breakfast are a 10 min walk away. The bar felt a bit forced but then again you don't want to stay in your hostel bar when you're in Berlin!
We had a great time at generator and in Berlin! The staff were so helpful and easy going, if we ever wanted to go anywhere they would lay out an easy route for us. The place was very clean and had a good breakfast. We loved meeting the other travellers in the hostel as well. All in all, a great trip in an amazing city!

Very good conditions for such little money. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds, I will definitely recommend it to my friends who would like to visit berlin
I asked for a mix dorm and was placed in a female dorm. Also no Wifi in the room only down in the bar. Right in the heart of the Mitte District.
The Generator Hostel is awesome, stayed at the London one as well & loved it. There is no kitchen but there is bar food you can buy that's cheap so that is no worries. There is a bar and massive common area expect it is full of chairs & tables, no real lounge around area - like couches or anything. Just some feedback, nothing bad at all. Laundry facilities weren't the best but I think they are getting fixed. Location not exactly central, but easy enough to get everywhere via metro/tram.
2 s bahn trains away from central Berlin, but only takes around 15 minutes. The staff were friendly and quick on check in. Booked a twin bed shared bathroom and on arrival our room had an ensuite at no extra cost. Facilities downstairs are good with a large common room and bar area with sofas and chairs and pool table. Food outlets and restaurants around the hotel. ... There was school kids running round and being loud at times though !
Stayed in a private room for one which was perfectly clean and comfortable. Girl at front desk was exceptionally friendly, only downfall was that absolutely no additional information was provided upon check-in. There was no maps about the local area or information about things going on within the hostel, such as walking tours or pub crawls. Nothing was said about how the canteen worked, how the payment for breakfast worked or how the wi-fi worked and this was very frustrating and impersonal.
Central and clean. Good if all your planning on doing is sleeping. Metro is round the corner, or get the tram up towards Alexanderplatz. Cafes on route sell coffee/pastries, so get breakfast here rather than the hostel (which is €5.50 !) Only use the laundry facilities if your staying for a few nights, as can take a while to find a free washer/dryer (€6). Bar is loud with techno music, but good bar staff. Would recommend for groups, but don't stay if your looking to meet other people traveling.
Everything was really good, I would just make the internet avaiable in the rooms.
Stayed for 1 night. Clean room, clean sheets, bathroom inside the room. We just wanted to sleep, so we didn't pay much attention to the facilities.
Location is good because it is right next to the s bahn station and this means that you can literally get anywhere without any complicated travelling. A very big hostel and very lively bar! I think because of its size it loses some of the intimacy you get with other hostels, and the bed I was in was very squeaky! But overall an enjoyable stay!
Good hostel - got everything you need - except maybe enough Power Points.. More helpful and friendly staff would be nice though!! Great place to meet others though, very friendly atmosphere.
We - boyfriend and I - were a little afraid the possibility of noise, sloppiness, drunks etc. because the hostel promotes itself as "a hostel for youths who want to party all night long", but this was not the thing; We get a good night sleep in our twin private. Everything was very clean and nice, and the atmosphere good! It's good that the hostel is near to the S-Bahn.
Staff we're very unhelpful apon arrivel no infomation of the city or hostel was given. Lockers in the room didnt not close or lock and the room had a stench even with windows open. For the location and the price your better off spending that little more and staying at st christphers or wombats
It's quite okay really, but it's huge which means you won't get that cozy social feeling. Also the check-in took close to 45 minutes and the showers are a little nasty. Not the best wifi in the world! On the bright side close to s-bahn and pretty cheap compared to other places in berlin.
Great hostel. Clean rooms but the beers are overpriced. Can get 80c beers down the road from the spati.

When checking in, it was the slowest process I've had to do anywhere. I stood in a queue with only around 5 people ahead of me, for almost an hour (though I got to know some of the people in the line quite well!) The rooms were very hot, poor ventilation. I understand the weather was very hot, but the windows did not allow for a huge amount of air to come in. We were awake by 0700 due to the intense heat in the room.
Good location and facilities, however it lacked atmosphere and felt like a university halls of residence.
Cheap but sufficient for a short stay. A bit dull though. And some staff members should be a bit nicer, it doesn't cost a thing.
