This hostelhas great potential BUT they fall short on too many areas. The kitchen is the worst - only opens at 5pm, no soap for days to wash dishes and no utensils at all to cook with! They have there own restaurant so maybe they want you to eat there. Breakfast is too expensive and is very small. Sad. Music played in common area is always too loud. Pity because decor is very nice for a hostel. Bathrooms can be very far from rooms. "Air freshener" constantly sprayed in halls is disgusting.TooBad

This place is huge.. Has very clean rooms and facilities. Probably the nicest beds/sheets of any hostel i've been to. Cool night scene in the lobby/bar.

This hostel is amazing, is huge, I had a very good time, I definitely recommend it, there are some hostels nearer to the city centre however this one is just less tan 14 minutes walking, It´s not to bad, the Jameson distillery is just turning right, as well museums. Showers were great plenty space, Excellent hostel, just the receptionist wasn't friendly nevertheless the rest of the staff was great.

This hostel feels really big, like a hotel. It's nice and clean. The room I was in was a bit stuffy. There's a cafe and bar instead of a kitchen, so you can't store/cook food if that's what you like. The staff were REALLY helpful when I asked to change rooms because I was uncomfortable with one of the other guests. Big lock boxes for your stuff in the rooms, but no locks - I didn't need one so I'm not sure if you have to buy one or if they are supplied on request.

Nice modern twist on the hostel. Lounge downstairs is consistently busy at night and the team station is a 20 minute walk away for traveling to other locations within Ireland.

A very nice hostel to stay in. Very clean and modern, however the only issue we had was that they had put us in the middle of rooms filled with 12 year olds on an excursion. Needless to say I got quite angry with all the banging and door slamming every 2 seconds. Poor planning on the hostels part I think.

This hostel would be great if you were having a weekend away with friends. However, if you are a seasoned backpacker stay elsewhere. This is a huge hostel, the atmosphere is cold and it is difficult to meet new people. The kitchen was merely hobs, plates and cutlery. No sharp knives or cooking utensils, no microwave or toaster. The kitchen only opens at 5pm and only a bar fridge for your food. Ridiculous! It is a cheap hostel but expect to pay for everything!

Thanks to all the staff for the kindness, too bad I don't know the name of the guy who serves breakfest, but a special thanks to you mate! Everything clean, nice bar, great security. Too bad there wasn't a male toilet in our floor, but it doesn't kill you to take the stairs to the second floor two or three times a day. The breakfest could be included in the price, but maybe that's asking too much. Dublin was a great positive surprise overall! Cheers everyone! Slainte!!

I had a great stay here. I got upgraded to a room with a Jacuzzi that was very spacious and had 2 showers and toilets that were very clean. The beds were so comfy that I didn't want to leave. Excellent value for money. Close enough to everything but not too close to be noisy. A great stay!

Generators are pretty good hostels. I had a good stay. however our room was cold even with the heating on. and no bathmat on the shower floor makes it a bit slippery and dangerous. staff were a bit avefrage.. had one girl drop a few cans on the floor and just a bit clumsy and staff not overally friendly. but its a trusted hostel so despite the staff being sloppy wasnt too bad!

The hostel was very clean and safe with locker storage in your room. There was wifi in the rooms and outlets on each bed. There really was no kitchen for practical use and this hostel is better if you are in a bigger group and will enjoy the downstairs bar.

I first stayed at Generator Dublin when they first opened in 2011. Two years later and it's still the best equipped hostel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in hundreds. Love the beds and the rooms, and the bar, pool tables etc. Good atmosphere. At the time I stayed, they'd changed the breakfast policy for the worse - couldn't buy a buffet breakfast anymore. I don't know why. Still love Generator though.

i thought the hostel was very nice , but the security is very bad , i went out for a smoke and people follow were there were people coming out of taxi and walking straight in ,no promblem what so ever , later that day there was a huge arguement between quest and outside people it nearly came to blows , THE STAFF ABSOUTELY DID NOTHING , THEY DID ,NT EVEN ASK THEM TO LEAVE , AND LET THEM CARRY ON DRINKING , being irish myself i was scared for me and for others , thankyou generator staff

I liked this hostel a lot. The only thing that I could think about that would make it better is that the guys bathroom is on the second floor and they ladies is on the first. I would have been nice to have bathrooms on both floors.

The hostel itself is very cheap, but they make their money by charging an arm and a leg for amenities like towels and for the beer in the bar downstairs. Because they have their own bar, they also don't allow you to drink your own alcohol in the common area, which is a bit annoying.

I enjoyed my stay at the hostel. I arrived on St. Patrick's Day and there was a nice party. The pub area is very nice and it was relatively quiet in the dorm rooms. The in suite bathroom with shower was clean and convenient.
