This hostel was clean, bathroom small but who needs a big one. The bar is quite loud and at times the building was rather hot. The area can also be a little dodgy at night. Might be best suited to younger travellers who enjoy socialising In the bar.
Being a solo traveller I found it hard to interact. More like a hotel which is lovely if that's what you're looking for. Be prepared to pay for everything! Was clean and has great lockers, however no soap in the ladies bathroom on first floor for four days and the shower in the room is tiny! No kitchen and the cook 'wasn't in' on two of the days.
Good hostel. close to the station. nice interiors. would recommend!
Hostel is pretty average (was expecting a little bit more, judging from there homepage and pictures on hostelworld). Staff was average as well, didn´t have the impression that they were really trying to be helpful. Overall an okay place though.
Excellent location, spotlessly clean, better than average security ( they even have a security guard posted at the door). The dorms are very spacious and well-designed, except for one detail: the en suite bathrooms are extremely cramped. However, there are far more spacious bathrooms in the halls. This was my 3rd stay here and I will definitely return on my next visit to Hamburg.
Got put into a very dirty smelly room and when I asked to be moved they said nothing was available. My boyfriend then complained and we finally got put into another room, which was an all girls room. Pretty unorganized staff and we shouldn't of been put in an all girls room. Bar was ok, a lot of younger school groups too bit of a buzz kill
Ideal for a group to enjoy the city. No real impetus to spend any time there so serves its purpose well as a base with good facilities.
It felt more like a hotel than hostel, mainly because is very big so a looot of people at FD sometimes. The service at lounge bar lacks of charm. I think the really bad thing was the tiny washrooms and showers in the dorms (I stayed in 1 for 6 and another for 8); this is partially solved with the full washroom shower per floor they have, but is just 1 extra per gender. Right across the bhf station, small markets close, good cafeteria.
We accidentally booked the wrong night, and even tho they couldn't give me back my money they gave us free breakfast. It's clean and most of the staff are nice. Right next to the main bus and train station.
The hostel has a really good location, right next to the train station. The building is renovated and huge and there is a nice lounge area to hang out. I booked a bed in a six-bed-room, which was small but clean. The bathroom in there was really really small, actually a joke! But there is an extra bath-room on each floor, which was a nicer option. For the cheap price, I was not expecting something better.
I love the location! It is right across of the main train station. The 4 people girls dorm room is cute too! though the bathroom is a bit small. The other girls and I used the bathroom in the hallway. The breakfast buffet is okie. I would love to have more fruits and vegetable choices for 5 dollars.
Our stay was a bit of a disappointment due to the staff in the Hostel. The hostel is very big, clean and right next to the main train station which is good. However the food which is supposed to be served in the bar 12-8pm was not available on either day we stayed until about 6pm and when we tried to get served we were given no apology or proper explanation just a shoulder shrug. There seem to be a lot of staff here but few of them seem to care about the customers, improve the service

it's very good hostel you know, but so big you cant relate to anybody there. And also they don't do tours and that stuff. It's more like a share hotel.
the building is super clean, the linen as well. wi-fi was sometimes poor in the room but excellent in the lobby. there is no kitchen. It's too big to get to know other people.
20 euros for one bed, soap is 0,60 cents, towel is 6 euros, excursions at the hostel , half an hour of internet one euro, because wifi is not working, there is no kitchen , small bathrooms, more like some hotel, unfriendly staff !!
Shower and toilet facilities are too small, I'm not a tall person but even I felt myself captured in a cabin where I can't do anything.
Fantastic location, comfy beds with helpful staff and very secure. The bar is a great place to hang out, but as it is such a big place you may luck out with meeting new people as it isnt really designed for that. Breakfast is pricy and not included in the cost.
It would have been much better if there was a kitchen visitors could use.
