Great location and close to the tube and the centre. Small rooms, but great for the price. Some toilets and showers didn't work or were blocked, but great hostel for a short, quick, cheap stay

The lockers in the rooms are small so do not expect to be able locking your suitcase. The wifi does not work in the room but only on the ground floor. The hostel was noisy as it is very big and especially young ones didn't know to behave even during nighttimes. Better bring earplugs. The toilets were not always clean even though it is being cleaned several times a day. The staff was okay. Overall never again. I have been in better hostels in London.

Love staying at the Generator on my overnight layovers in London. Easy to get to, inexpensive, very clean, friendly staff, and plenty to do in the area. My one and only complaint is that the big bar in the back is no longer there and while the new one is fine too, there was only one beer on tap. Great place and I totally recommend staying here.

Not the worst hostel I have stayed in, but definitely the strangest. Hostel itself was pretty good, even if there is not much around it, but the showers were a bit rusty and the lights over the shower area didn't work. Showers didn't have any hot water a few times, and need improving. I definately wouldn't stay here again though, the worst thing about this place was that there a lot of school children staying on a trip and even adults staying with babies/kids. Totally killed the backpacker vibe.

This hostel is quite large. I would estimate it holds around 300 people. The hot water is iffy at best. Also, in a bedroom of 10 people, there were 2 electric outlets to charge devices, etc. And those two were hidden on one wall behind one of the beds. Granted the hostel does have charging cubbies downstairs available for a fee to charge phones/iPods, they don't do much good if you want to charge your laptop and your camera. That being said, I would recommend this hostel for location and price.

The bathrooms were constantly clogged, but they told me a hundred times and emailed me that it is a work in progress and would be completed in the next few months. I got stuck in the 5 person elevator because there are 6 people...and then they got mad at me for not seeing the small little 5 on the inside of the elevator before i got in it...but having my own room with my friends was nice

We were very disappointed to learn on the evening before our arrival that we had been relocated to a different hostel in a completely different part of London for the first night of our stay. We had chosen the Generator as it was a convenient location for us, as a group of 10, to meet and return to in the evenings after enjoying the sights of London. The hostel we were relocated to was practically outside of central London and in an area that can only be described as run-down and unsafe.

Too many kids, large groups that dominated the atmosphere. Not that chilled a spot. Large loud but dull. Was fine for the price and location though, probably would go back. Though I was traveling for work rather than fun..

Good place for teenager,,, backpakers, students groups. Don't expect more . The breakfast is one box with every thing , but very low look. For 3€ I had realy better breakfast in other places. In general, they breng you every thing, But very LOW STYLE . "THE STAFF perfect... they are excelent. Ready to help you any time"

Stayed in a 4 bed dorm, a bit cramped, but hostel itself is to be recommended. Security seems better than average for sure. Don't like that you cant rent towels though.

Uncomfortable and impersonal atmosphere, rather like a big concrete underground car park. Rubbish phone service and wifi. Dinner is foul, don't waste ya money. Plus side, lots of power plugs and bed lights. Ok for to one night, as so close to tube.

It's a good hostel, very well located and close to a tube station but if you're like me and decided staying here based in your experience at Generator Hostel Copenhagen I advise you looking another place to stay. Lets be clear, it's not a bad place I just think I was expecting something like the Copenhagen one.

22/m/australian. I'd give this hostel a 76/100. I originally was going to give it about an 82 but downgraded for these reasons: lift was out of order the whole time I was there (7 nights) and the men's bathroom on my floor was out of order for 5 of the nights due to flooding. Was a bit of a drag since I was on the fifth floor. Staff were very friendly and the hostel was very clean. I would recommend this to friends. It was worth the 19 pounds a night.

Decent enough hostel, great location and facilities are fine. It's large and impersonal but good if you just need a place to crash for a night.

The best think abou the Generator Hostel London is its location, just 5 mins waking to a metro station, and in a walking distance to main touristic points in central London. The staff was helpful and the place was very clean, specially the restrooms.
