The staff were not overly friendly or helpful. The communal area with the cafe, restaurant and bar area would be good if you're interested in being social and partying, but if you're after a relaxing stay it is not ideal as you can even hear the niose in your room until 2am . Most importantly, the bathroom cleanliness was very poor and the facilities in general were not very nice. I was dissapointed and thought it was overpriced for what you get.

The staff were extremely helpful. Went out of their way to do whatever they could to help and make sure my stay was a good one.

The building is beautiful, the staff really helpful and everything's really clean. It's huge though, with too many people for my taste. Also, the bathrooms were really uncomfortable to shower, lacking hooks or anything to lay your clothes on without getting them wet. Other than that it's a great hostel with everything you need.

Phone was stolen, rude unhelpful staff, no atmosphere, toilets and showers flooded and dirty, expensive, will charge you a ridiculous price for just about anything.

Security was a bit over the top. Otherwise, it was Okay.

Good beds! Refurnished bar and chill area since I was there! Showers and restroom are still dirty. Wifi didn't work on Apple phones or tablets

Showers are great, no lights or plugs for upper bunks is a little inconvenient. Lots of security. Bar and bar food are convenient as well.

Security over kill

The hostel is very well located, the hostel bar is awsome, the staff is friendly. The main problems with the hostel, are the size of the room (with small lockers, so small that my luggage have to be left outside the locker). The main problem, however, was the lack of shelfs or any space to leave important things while you are in the showers. The showers are curtin separated and there are no safe places to leave anything during the bath. There's lack of separation of the water from each shower.

Great location, but with such a huge hostel the bathrooms really need to be cleaned more regularly.

maybe you have to put some shelves in room and smth to hang jackets

Great common spaces, comfortable beds, huge lockers, great location.

Good location, fun place (fair few aussies, but generally a good mix). Bar goes off most nights. Camden pub crawl is a must do, it leaves every night from around 7 at the hostel reception. Bar staff are great, forgot to say goodbye to our Basque friend (and part time DJ). Keep the party going!

The staff were very helpful and there was a real 'buzz' about the hostel. However, my friend slept in a dorm below ground (level 0) and there was no fresh air and the room smelt damp. The male toilets/showers on floor 5 always appeared to be flooded and one had to wade through water to access the showers. A few hooks in the room would have been useful (for coats, towels etc) and small stools near the showers might have been handy.

It does not take long to realise that Generator Hostel is a corporate business full of business systems created to make profit. Sadly, these systems were often inefficient or not working in my stay at the hostel. The whole building was basically a factory of getting tourists in and out of London to make money out of us. There was little care, warmth or compassion towards "customers". Fortunately, being a Hostel Ninja I was upgraded to a smaller dorm and never once paid for breakfast.

I like the atmosphere in the hostel, there are different rooms where you can chill and socialize. I would def stay again there if I had the chance.

As we entered the hostel, there were couple of guys in front of the building. The facilities were nice, but door was too heavy so it made lots of noise. Hot shower was nice, but it was kind of crowed in the morning, so there were people waiting. Location was amazing. It took me about 15~20 minutes to walk to oxford street. The tube station was less than 5 minutes of walk. It wasn't very cheap, but if you want to stay in London, it is worth it!

The best hostel I have ever been.

I loved this hostel. Everything was fantastic! the only bad thing was that breakfast wasn't included... but the rooms were good, the toilets were good and the chill out movie room was a great place to charge your laptop and watch a movie.

Good choice.
