We stayed 3 nights, it was great. The staff is very helpful. They are refurbishing everything so it's very modern and clean! But don't forget to bring a towel!

The place was undergoing major renovations, but you can tell that it's going to be all great once the upgrades are all done with!

Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Lots of different areas/rooms to relax. Transport and shops were easily accessible. But room was extremely stuffy especially at night. Poor ventilation. Could do with some kind of air conditioning/expelair or other.

The only bad thing was that breakfast wasn't included- and there was nothing in terms of a kitchen. If your looking for a good time though definitely the place to be!

Construction wasn't really an issue. Had my first night in a 4 bedroom switched to a 10 bedroom but was provided with a discount so it wasn't a big deal.

The hostel was ok, but I think the rooms were a bit dusty. I am allergic to dust, so I kept sneezing all the time...

I didn't like that the 12-bed-dorms are really tiny and the underbed lockers are soooo heavy that one cannot really move them from under the bed anymore once they're full. I liked the common room though. I stayed in the rooms downstairs and there was a lot of construction work going on which was not that nice.

The hostel is very suitably situated (near a tube station, the British museum & a good bookshop very close, West End within walking distance). At the moment, a lot of work is going on on the premises which affects the life in the hostel a tad - but not too much. It's nice and peaceful during the night, so there's nothing to complain about, really. I've been coming to this hostel for about 15 years, I can see the improvements - cannot wait for the work to be completed to see the final result.

There was renovations when we were here. There was only two shower blocks open when we were there and had to line up to take showers. It would have been nice if they let us know before. Once the reno's are complete it should be a very good hostel

There was major construction going on, which was not made clear in any materials during booking. There were construction workers all over the hostel, and at one point the power (so lights, ability to shower, etc.) and internet went out for a full 12 hours. We were given a day's notice and that was it. I would not have booked to stay at this hostel if I had known the situation, and no money was taken off for time and use of facilities lost to the power outage.

Was given the wrong room, carried all my luggage up & down stairs (no lift). Get correct room but was assigned a taken bed. The available bed was not clean or made up. Couldn't sleep as it was hot (only a small window for ventilation). Woke up to construction workers walking up scaffolding at the window's edge at 9am. Was not informed about this at any point. Bathrooms are terrible. Dark, damp & showers are a hose out of a wall, providing boiling hot or freezing cold high pressured water.

The main problem with my stay at generator hostel was the fact that the room was in many cases hotter than a sauna. The biggest room was downstairs and had no access to the outside coupled with one of the hottest weeks in London made it unbearable to be in. Everything else you come to expect with huge hostel chains. Good facilities, decent beer for the price, upcharging on basics (breakfast should be included). The location is excellent (I am biased because I lived in Bloomsbury for a year).

It's central, clean and friendly. The staff are lovely! A little bit expensive for a hostel.

Dear Guest, I'm sorry to hear that we were unable to meet your expectations on this ocassion. As we are going through a make over to make the experience for our guests better in the future, the lift has been undergoing some renovation. We'll have it back for you as soon as we can. The number of beds in our rooms are specified on booking, but I'm sorry to hear you found it to be too much for you after check in. Thank you for your feedback it is appreciated. Best Wishes
