I would highly recommend staying here! It has everything, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the beds were really comfortable, the food was nice, the wifi was an excellent connection! Only slight negative was that it was on a different island to the main one, and you have to pay €7 for a single on the boat/bus. Or you can pay €20 for a day ticket, £30 for 2 days.
It was good for me, but I hope you take care of your efficiency for task. When I just wanted to borrow the hair dryer, I waited for 25 minutes because there was only one person in the reception desk. ( Actually, I failed to borrow the hair dryer because there is no left hair dryer.) Anyway, I had a great time in Venice ^_^
The place was nice. Staff was nice. We stayed in a 10 bed room which was wierd but the cheapest we could find.
the lockers are terrible and mattress was dirty and felt plasticy
Best hostel ever! Ultra clean, organized, friendly and beautiful decoration.
Rude staff with no interaction with the guests ! Specially the bar tender ! Very expensive meals and drinks ! Despite from staff , great athmosphere.
Generator Buddha Sara is amazing. Ask for Sara, she knows what's up. The bartender was rude though. Everyone else on the staff is great as well. Great lobby music. Clean rooms. Big Lockers.
Here's how you get there from the train station Get the number 2 ferry all the way to zitelle, get off and walk right 300 meters and you will see it.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the generator hostel. Unfortunately my visit was tarnished some what as a Swidish girl I was courting fell into one of Venice's many canals She smelt awful for the rest of the evening. However this was not the fault of the generator hostel franchise as they cemented my experience into the category of "forever memories"! My friend also left a sleeveless denim jacket and a pair of short green Patagonia shorts and would like to be reunited with them if possible
Very good place. The only thing is that it is on the island. It is nice by itself but to reach the main attractions you should take a boat. The bad thing is when you have to return back to the hostel, because the boats stop circulating at 11 pm.
Lockers in the room which could store our bags in, and could use our own lock. Also allowed us to leave our bags through the day while we went out. Was a good location just one boat stop from the square, took a while from the station but could get one boat so was ok. Had a good bar area where you could get nice drinks and food, and overall good value for money - especially for Venice!
Beautiful hostel! well located if you are under 25, you can get the 3 days pass to vaporetto. the sign in front of the hostel is Hostel Venezia or something like this and not generator hostel. We stayed in a 16 beds room, and was cool, besides some really disorganized people who leave everything on the floor.
The hostel is on an island, but you can see St Marks Square from the hostel. It wasn't a problem for me catching the boat to the mainland, only 15 mins. This hostel was really good and any criticisms I have are small things eg. one shower always flooded the bathroom, sometimes the staff at the bar seemed disinterested and even rude...other times they were really friendly. Atmosphere was cool downstairs with the bar and the food good and reasonably priced. Wifi worked well. I would stay again.
I would definitely recommend this hostel to others, the rooms are a bit cramped and the lockers are a stupid design so nobody bothered using them. The directions provided are hopeless so remember they call ferries buses here, and you need to take the number 2 to Zittelle and walk right along the water for about 200m.
It is really easy to get there from the station or Saint Mark Square by boat 4.1 and 2 respectively. The rooms are clean, the staff is kind and the atmosphere is great (there is a bar in the hostel where you can meet people from other countries). A really good place to stay.
Overall a great hostel with a great view of venice, but the bathroom facilities are lacking. There are a limited number of showers per floor and there's no privacy!
Very clean, modern, nice staff, nicest hostel I've ever stayed at. Right next to a water taxi station that takes you right into Doges palace. Beautiful view of the city.

The only downside was that the breakfast was quite sparse for €3.50 a day, and the food from the canteen was pretty awful. Other than that, it's literally the best hostel I've ever stayed in.
