Switzerland is an expensive place so considering there are only two hostels in Geneva you're in a bit of a monopoly. It was expensive. They charged me €13 to do laundry, €5 of that was a deposit that you only get back if you return the disposable plastic cup that they put the detergent in.The hostel itself was clean, security was tight which was good. However this hostel was very sterile in atmosphere and the staff are not particularly helpful. Designed to make money not to cater for travellers.

WiFi does not work in rooms. Except for that rest is fine and the location is very good as it is very near to Lake and to the main station. The breakfast is really good and the washrooms are also good.

This is a great hostel and with a very good price for Geneva! The staff is really helpful and are always willing to help you with anything you may need during your stay. The only thing could be better is having wifi in the bedroom, but I actually didn't need it much and the lounge area is quite comfortable to stay if you gotta work or plan you trip.

Good hostel, plenty of space in the rooms and bathrooms clean. Lockers were good for security of bags etc. Free breakfast was good to have. Location isn't the best as it is in the 'red light district'. Wifi only worked on the bottom floor and common area. Overall not a bad hostel for a few nights.

Great place!

This is a very large hostel with a big variety of people staying, and the breakfast was pretty good. It did get quite noisy at night though.

The hostel was in a good location (15 minutes walking from the main train station), rooms were nice and clean. The bathrooms were a bit dirty, and the staff were not that friendly or helpful. No wifi in the rooms, only in the common areas, which had a dreary atmosphere.

The hostel was well located, just 10 minutes away from the train station, close to the United Nations and not so far from the old town. Staff was not very nice, but they weren't rude either. Bathrooms big and clean, dorms well equipped. Lounge area is nice to relax, but no so much to interact with others. The general atmosphere is cold! Overall I recommend it. Good value for money

A very large hostel. I felt like in a dorm instead of a hostel. We need our magic keys to go anywhere. Which is good for the security in this large hostel, but sometimes it's quite inconvenience as well. The staff is helpful but I feel they are more in a business mode like.

This is a very good hostel. A couple of negatives are that the kitchen is small and so is the eating area. It is expensive, but that is due to the high Swiss Franc, not much can be done about that.

One toilet shared between at least 10 ppl. Ran out toilet paper one morning, not acceptable. Hostel has no atmosphere, awful for solo travellers who want to meet people. Rooms and beds were really nice and the keycard lockers were great. Solid location for getting to the lake and close enough to a tram station. Free breakfast is a nice touch although big queues and finishes early (9am). No kitchen facilities for self feeding and their menu is quite pricey.

Hostel was a nice, cheap place to stay in Geneva. Do not expect a hostel to meet people, as mostly large school groups and families are staying here. It is close to the city center and the train station so you can walk everywhere. The Lidl grocery store and the parks that are near are a nice alternative for eating out, which is very expensive in Switzerland. Breakfast is nice, but expect to wait in line for a long time. Floors have only 2 toilets for all the dorms, one male and one female.

Breakfast was good but toilets is not enough. Some staff was not help.

The hostel was more set-up like a hotel and this showed in the atmosphere. People socialized less with others, were more on their own. The personnel was professional and it was very clean.

Overall the hostel was great for the price, especially in the location that the hostel was in. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, but we're still able to be used .

I don't like it when the shower and tap water turn themselves off aftera while.

I booked a double room with ensuite and I got 2 cheap beds pushed together. The shower room was literally a basin in the corner, with no proper shower head, more of a tap. The room had been given a quick clean, lots of hair. Possibly meant to be a 'rustic build' but appeared they had forgotten to paint the ceiling. Expensive hostel but in comparison with Geneva accommodation, it was cheap. Location was good and we had a balcony area. Too be honest, Geneva is not a place I would visit again.

I stayed at the Geneva Hostel three nights and every night was moved to a different bed in the six-bed female dorm I was in... but the staff didn't bother to tell me. So every evening (including once at 1.30am) someone new would arrive in the dorm and tell me I was in the wrong bed. This meant that other people had access to my locker. Talk about terrible security! The rooms are really basic and the bathrooms, while clean, don't even have handsoap. The only good thing is the free breakfast.

This place was very average. Rooms were decent, location was good, provided lockers were large and breakfast was sufficient. However, when people have said this place has no atmosphere, it's true. No one talked to each other. This isn't normally an issue for me, but this hostel was almost depressing how little atmosphere there was and lots of older people there too. Also, the bathrooms were constantly dirty. Overall, a very blah experience. Most likely wouldn't go back.

A very nice location and facilities. Good breakfast and nice staff! The lockers are situated in the hallway tho, and there is no trash in the room... The free public transport cards they hand out is awesome!
