Staff have service mind. Location far from Subway. Good value of money.

Overall you get what you pay for. Not a bad hotel, simply it was not as good as the other reviews made it out to be. We booked the hotel over a hostel that was the same price due to the higher rated amenities, but it was no nicer than a hostel. Might as well book a hostel and have a better location. Also, the wifi was basically useless.

Great service, staff, and facilities!

Pretty standard hotel. Not much atmosphere and absolutely nothing in the local area. Only a few stops (1 change) on the metro to the bund. Friendly staff and a shop onsite for any bits and bobs you may need. Cheaper rooms may not have a window

it was a clean an tidy,

This hotel is a very good choice for the price. The room was small but comfortable, the service was good, the staff was nice. The middle-row rooms don't have windows, which was strange for me. The location is excellent, there's a metro station nearby and there's a bus stop just outside a hotel with direct line to the city center.

This isn't really a hostel, it's a hotel which means that there's no common area besides the lobby bar. We stayed in a private room with shower and a toilet but no window. The cleaning lady came every day. Genting Star is quite far from everything but the metro runs about a kilometer from the hostel and it's good value for the money. Internet worked well. The only bad thing was that we could hear everything from the corridor.
