Pretty standard hotel. Not much atmosphere and absolutely nothing in the local area. Only a few stops (1 change) on the metro to the bund. Friendly staff and a shop onsite for any bits and bobs you may need. Cheaper rooms may not have a window
This isn't really a hostel, it's a hotel which means that there's no common area besides the lobby bar. We stayed in a private room with shower and a toilet but no window. The cleaning lady came every day. Genting Star is quite far from everything but the metro runs about a kilometer from the hostel and it's good value for the money. Internet worked well. The only bad thing was that we could hear everything from the corridor.
I can't really say anything bad shout this hostel...we never made it there...
First review! Very nice, clean, fairly new, good value for money. A bit of a trek from the centre but not bad considering the price and proximity to the Metro station. Staff were shouting from one end of the corridor to the other first thing in the morning, which was pretty annoying, but overall a pleasant stay. Don't drink the coffee from the adjoining restaurant unless you want to pay Starbucks prices for powdered instant stuff.
