Ghandi Backpackers Lodge is a nice hostel with a very helpful staff ! Heinz, the owner, and his staff (Lee, Chris and the girls) are always in good spirit to help you out. Although I wasn't the typical backpacker, as I was staying there for a golf tournament. The kitchen is well equipped and my laundry was done within 24 hours, so TOP service ! I had all the comfort things I needed; cold beer after work, marlboro light cigarets, a refreshing pool, good and cheap internet and good fast food !!

Staffs are very kind and eager to help travelers. There are few restaurants around guesthouse, but there are some super markets. You buy some foods at the supermarkets, then you cook meals at the kitchen. Kitchen is well equipped. Other facilities are very well.

very nice place to stay. The swimming pool is quite big, two dogs care well for the guests :-) Our room (double room) was not too big but the bathroom clean. For the guests' cars they have a garage (even our mini bus fitted in!!)

I really enjoyed my stay at Ghandi Backpacker's Lodge. The staff is amazing and the accommodation is great. Rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. There's a nice kitchen which you're free to use if you wish. They offer complementary airport pick up and arrange for rides to wherever you wish to go, which is very convenient. More importantly, the hostel has a bar with a hookah!! I really enjoyed my stay there and would certainly stop there when I'm back in Johannesburg.

There didn't seem to be much in the immediate vicinity of the hostel, but it was quiet and peaceful. Staff were very helpful with getting taxis around and a lift to the airport. Kitchen is very nice and clean, though there were no teatowels so the draining board was piled high even though it was very quiet when we stayed.

I thought this place was fantastic - friendly staff, nice restored old building, big clean rooms, nice pool/bar area, free airport pickup and all for a good price. What more could you want!? Definitely a good option when staying in Jo'burg.
