The staff here are very helpful in arranging activities for you in the area. The bike rental facility is fantastic. Best of all - the dining is superb! Some of the best food we had in china with lovely views as well. Will definitely recommend to those visiting the area.

Absolutely beautiful property--we enjoyed every moment here. We spent two months in China, and this ended up being our most expensive location, though, because you basically have to eat all your meals at the guesthouse, as it's not close to anything else. We were very glad to be staying outside of Yangshuo, which is a little crowded and noisy, but we did end up spending as much in food as we did for our room at this guesthouse, and the food was mediocre. However, everything else was great!

Everybody was very helpful and friendly. Any question asked was either answered immediately or researched and then answered. The food was varied, well prepared, hot and served by very pleasant staff. It was also very peaceful at night and the bed was comfy.

AMAZING AMAZING place. Rooms were great -- only complaint is that hot water not the hottest Staff was great, but a bit slow in the am, especially when I was rushing to get a taxi to the airport. Food is delicious and menu choices are a plenty. Activities are endless and they've thought everything through, including guide books with pictures for those wanting a biking/hiking adventure. Other than that, an amazing retreat away from the big city! And they have a super cute pool!

I liked every moment of my stay and will recommend the place to everybody coming to China

this is a beautiful place, lovely design and decoration, excellent food and wonderfully priced, great rooms and bathrooms. however, the main reason we chose this place was the pool, yet the day we arrived it was out of action the entire day for cleaning. it took three times expressing our disappointment for the management to acknowledge us, and then were basically told that's the life goes sometimes.we were later offered 20rnb off bike rental cos they 'knew we were disappointed'

Giggling Tree, in addition to its cute name, has an excellent location in the country, pretty good food and rooms at very reasonable cost, and an excellent. helpful staff. As I am an avid bicycler I found their picture book routes especially helpful. Any of the other things that you might want to do in Yangshuo are easily arranged by the staff.

We only stayed one night so our observations are only of limited value. Very good bathroom in our 2nd floor room

Fantastic rural location and atmosphere. Staff were like a large happy family, and their smiles were infectious. It was great to have good English speakers to assist in organising activities and transport. For travelers keen to experience Yangshuo nightlife, accommodation in Yangshuo itself might be more convenient. We'd happily stay at the Giggling Tree again. Many European guests seem to be 'regulars'.

there are two many signs telling you what to do and most of the things you want you must put a deposit down: hair dryer, games, etc. because of the village location which is nice, there is only the restaurant in the hotel which is basically western-type food, or large Chinese dishes. the food was not to my taste.

Dear customer, We appreciate your response. Having a foreign business in China makes that we have to stick to rules. As you are talking about signs, we assume you mean signs around the pool telling you what is allowed and what is not. These are Chinese rules and actually you see them worldwide. If we don't stick to rules we will not be allowed to have a pool. We hope you can understand.

Great guest house a little way from the hectic centre of town. Wonderful location, awesome views, great pool which was newly opened. Big spacious room which was great but the shower had poor drainage which was the only thing to let the room down. Helpful and attentive staff. Really recommend it as base to explore the region.

Recommended by a friend, and what a great find. In beautiful countryside setting a short cycle from Yangshuo, the best part was our cycle trips around local villages on the Li river. The rooms are huge and comfortable, staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly Paulien. Thanks for a really great stay, David and Hannah.

This is an excellent place to stay in a very beautiful part of China in a tranquil setting away from the lively environment of Yangshao. Staff go the extra mile to ensure you have a wonderful stay. There's excellent advice about cycling locally and individual travel needs are well catered for. Accommodation in private double rooms is outstanding. This is a great place to just sit and admire the view after a hectic travel schedule This is a top destination.

This guesthouse is amazing. I have stayed in more than 80 hostels and guesthouses in nearly 30 countries, and this is easily in my top three. The main reason to go to Yangshuo is the beautiful countryside. Giggling Tree is slap in the middle of it and well worth the 20min tuk tuk drive from the busy town centre. The owners are very hands on and friendly, and have poured their heart and soul into making this hostel really special. (And they have table tennis.)

Our stay in The Giggling Tree was really fantastic. The atmosphere of the old renovated houses is impressive and the view from the terrace into the beautiful karst-mountain landscape is just beautiful and relaxing. Also the staff and the owners are always friendly, helpful and can give good advices for activities in the region of Yangshuo and the food is great!. The days in Yangshuo could not have been better than they were in the Giggling Tree. Thanks to the wonderful team!

Loved our stay here. Ideal place to relax after some intense weeks of traveling China, in the middle of the karst mountains and just at the right distance from Yangshuo.. Beautiful old courtyard farm with huge, pretty rooms; great food; soft beds with mosquito nets; and excellent staff with good English (and Dutch!). If you enjoy a bike ride, be sure to ask for their pictured bike maps.
