The hostel was relatively nice based on the price that I paid for it. The only problem I had was when I checked in it was late at night (10:30 ish) and when I went up to my room, there did not seem to be any beds available. I had to drag all my stuff back down to tell them. It turns out that their last guest did not take their sheets down to the laundry chute when they checked out. The staff at the front that night was not very friendly or helpful.

My main concern was the lack of 24 hour reception. The girl at reception during the day was very helpful. I had to keep myself awake all night for a very early flight, and the maintenance guy was very kind, but I felt bad bc he had to deal with drunk people alone. It's kind of expensive for so little, but most hostels in Brussels seem to be. Showers are nice. There are lockers in the rooms. A bit of a walk though.

I got to sleep with a guy who was stinking. Me and some other 2 guys had to put up with the smell. None of the 3 of us could be inside the room. The hostel said they couldn't put him out since he had already paid. I think this was a mistake, he was disturbing 3 other customers and he was not willing to take a bath. Eventually, one the guys in the room managed to kick him out, but it should have been the hostel staff the ones kicking him out. The smell was unbearable and we couldn't sleep.

The hostel is a bit hard to find, and most of the bunk beds are three storeys - so if you're not very nimble, or don't like heights, this may not be the place for you. But the place is really clean, the staff are lovely, they provide a free computer with internet access, and the location is fantastic.

This hostel is huge and has one of the best free breakfasts I´ve ever had! They include maps with tours, have a bar, and luggage room, and are located just a 15 minute walk from the center of Brussels, and you can pass many sights as you walk there. My only compaint was the HORRIBLE SMELL in our hostel room!! It smelled like old, sweaty feet that had been collecting for months. We even slept with the windows open, even though it was cold, to try and avoid the smell, but the stench stayed...

This is a genuinely excellent hostel. However, it lacks a TV common room. I find this is usually the place to meet other people. Whilst I was lucky to have an excellent crowd in my room, if I had not, it would have been difficult to meet other people. Nevertheless, I would strongly recommend this hostel. In particular, the security is excellent and the staff are extremely helpful.
