Nothing wrong with this hostel re facilities/cleanliness but it has no atmosphere. The roof area is nice but there were never people up there during my stay & the other communal areas aren't particularly inviting. Wouldn't recommend this place for solo travellers hoping to meet people but it's fine if you just want to keep to yourself. Wasn't told by staff that the hot&cold taps are REVERSED in the female bathroom on the 2nd floor, two freezing showers later figured it out for myself.

The Glebe Hostel YHA was exactly what we were wanting in a quiet place to stay in Sydney. Convenient shops for self catering and a frequent bus service into the city or to walk in three quarters of an hour. The hostel was very helpful, clean and efficient . Maybe the decor was a little tired.

This hostel is a fair walk from the city, which is why it is cheaper than most but we were aware of that when booking and the bus services are good. We were in a spacious private double that had a fan but the only toilets on our floor were unisex. The hostel staff work very hard to keep the bathrooms and kitchen clean; unfortunately it seems that most of the people staying here were very messy and disrespectful and not complying with the signs posted asking to clear up after yourself.

the kitchen was very old. The pans were dirty and the fridge was always full no room to add our food. The bins in the kitchen were also always full so the rubbish were falling on the floor. The hostel is quite remote from the centre. You need a bus ticket that cost more than 3$ each way. The showers were not very clean either. The soap holder was rusty.

Glebe is a very pretty neighborhood, I liked strolling down the road to the little shops and cafes. The reception guy was also understanding when I needed to cancel some nights. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped as well. I recommend!
