Lovely staff + great location. Lots of restaurant options and a short stroll to the beach or tram. Beds simple metal frames with fairly firm, good quality mattresses. V comfortable. One major downside is the strange toilet / shower arrangement. Had to go all the way downstairs and then out the back door to the bathrooms outside. Seems like a major trek if you have to go for a pee in the middle of the night. Kitchen layout is also weird with ovens in sep room to fridges & plates/pots etc.
This beautiful historic bounding is so close to the Beach and a wide choice of eateries. Some rooms are rather noisy with traffic. There are shared toilet and shower facilities, fine in the not so busy season. The sheets are pressed cotton and there are good quality towels for hire. Saturday night was noisy with a DJ until late. I would recommend this hostel for those who love old buildings and the beach. Easy access to bus and tram.
