Only there for 2 nights on a flying visit to Adelaide but wished we could have stayed longer. Lovely spot so close to the beach, bar is cheap and cheerful and the staff friendly. Although the place is older it is still spotless

I have backpacked around all of Australia and find the Glenelg beach hostel to be one of my favorites. I have actually returned there multiple times in the last year. It is right in downtown and a block from the beach. There are great restaurants all around (and pretty cheap too). The staff is fun and personable. The newly added bar downstairs is always a good time. Not to mention the large kitchen & lounge area. This is a great hostel & highly recommended from one backpacker to another!

They don't have any lockers in the rooms! Aside from this, it isn't such a bad hostel.

Seen as there was a lot of celebrations going on around the area, we were suprised at how safe we felt within the complex. Kitchen was a delight to mix and mingle with other guests and see the kitchen tidy at the same time. Regards Connie

I stayed here with my girlfriend and we had a double room. The room itself was average (to be expected in a hostel) Would be good if they had some paintings/pictures up. I really appreciated the friendly staff giving us the heads up about a football team staying and giving us choice of rooms. The bar area looked really nice (but we didnt stay long enought to enjoy). Showers very clean. Close to transport, shops, beach and cafes! I would stay here again.

This was my very first back packer accommodation experience and I have already recommended Glenelg Beach Hostel to friends and work colleagues. The staff and owner were extremely helpful and friendly. I will definitely stay there again when I next to travel to Adelaide for work. I enjoyed the beverage and game of pool and will get some practice in before I next stay at the hostel. I am looking forward to seeing the renovation progress. A big thank you to Tony, the owner for my stay. Tammy

Maybe lacking location and character as it was in the heart of low season and therefore wasn't too busy... Found the kitchen to be very poor, not the cleanest and also lacking pots and pans and utensils... (Only had 1 pot, and it didn't even have a handle!) Our room had a sliding door seperating uis from nect door which kept banging throughout the night and made it impossible to sleep as we had noisy neighbours. On the up side, the staff were really helpful...   Read Owner Comments
