Checking out system very bad and the night manager never answer the phone call, no Kay's box for checking out!! And they don't want to return the key deposit when I call them !!! Service very bad....!!! Baddest in austrualia backpacker's services!! I don't want push everyone to go to this backpacker !!!

I arrived at there at night. One woman receptionist was very bad and strange. She tried to get money for printout my voucher at there. And she didnt give me a room key. She didnt explain anything about the facility. I dont want to use thete any more.

If I go Cairns again, I will book again!

Please invest in soundproof rooms or tighter security at night when there are other patrons of the hostel who want to have conversations on different levels and wake up the entire building. Would not recommend your hostel only for the main reason that you couldn't get a good night sleep without being interrupted in the early hours of the morning.

I have been to Global Central on 3/24-3/29,and I booked the helicopter on 3/25. The helicopter was cancelled because of the bad weather,but I haven't recieve the refund yet. Otherwise, the girl staff's attitude isn't friendly, male staffs are better than girl.

Huge hostel but didnt have much of a common area, so very few people got talking to one another. Any areas they have get locked up. No kitchen utensils, thaught it was a joke having to give id for a knife and fork! Meal voucher nd location are the best part. Wish hostels would stop using backpackers for cleaning staff-these hostels are never clean nd toilets are yuck

No personnality, you choose the low price, so u expect that... but they're really NOT friendly: sleeping bags are forbidden in the rooms, they're afraid to get a bad review,...! u can have a blanket, for 20 dollars deposit, and give it back everyday, if not, 'the money might get lost: wtf? blanket in cairns? air con is f.. cold! don't allow access to showers after you checked out and won't tell you that u have public showers down the street! all that could do if at least said nicely, but no

Very rude and uninterested staff at reception. Travel desk are lovely. When we arrived they made us wait 20 minutes before we checked in whilst they just sat chatting at the desk- when I interrupted and asked if I could check in now they said no and went back to chatting. A ridiculous cutlery and plate system. Big bag of maggots in kitchen /unsanitary utensils, no drying clothes. Filthy bathrooms. Not enough powersockets in rooms, broken a/c + fan. No personal reading lights. Tiny pool.

Air conditioner in a private room couldn't be put on/off, we had to ask for a remote at the reception (very practictal when you come back in the night). Toilets very quickly dirty after the morning cleaning (young peoples really don't have respect anymore). High noise during some nights (still young peoples thing, maybe you should make one staff guy staying at the accomodations for the night). According to the price we paid for a PRIVATE single room, it was not a good deal.
