Very clean, great common area and location. Nice big rooms. Even a PS3

Great location, friendly staff and relatively cheap. However, the rooms were inadequately cleaned and poorly maintained. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, but that was probably because of the time of year. Cleanliness was an issue, my room had chip packets and rubbish under the couch and there was chewing gum stuck to the base of the bunk above me.

4 bed dorm (no lockers) was clean as were the bathrooms. Reception wasn't always manned so anyone could access. $10 deposit each for a kitchen set i.e. plate, bowl, mug, knife, fork. Global gossip Internet available but no WI-FI. Bar below was noisy until about 11:30pm so avoid staying here if you want an early night. Kitchen could have been a little better equipped but was satisfactory given few people staying. Great location for 4 mile beach and for doing Great Barrier Reef & Daintree tours.

The hostel was pretty badly run. There was never anyone on reception so if you wanted anything you had to go through to the bar and wait for someone. There was absolutely no atmosphere either and im quite sure that my room bad bed bugs either in the bed or the carpet and I got absolutely covered in bites one night and had to change beds. The bathrooms were clean as was the kitchen but that was about the only positives. Good location for getting to the pier in port douglas for reef trips

Was an awesome hostel, but the dvd player was broken and the room we were staying in had a broken air conditioning machine that dripped all the time. Also, was often hard to find someone at the front desk.
