We had a very good stay and both Elisa and Sid were so helpful. They also provide guided tours and we had a great experience (ask for their best seller tour ;) House is close to the best area to have drinks and enjoy good food!

The Hostel is located very very close to Lapa so has a perfect situation in Rio de Janeiro. You can enjoy the city center, Lapa and Santa Teresa very easily, and you can take the subway also very easily to go to other places of the city! Elisa and Sid are very friendly and will help and answer all of your questions. The hostel is calm and plaisant too, with a good value for money... Very good choice!

Great little hostel just 2 minutes walk from the vibrant Lapa district and Santa Teresa. Elisa and Sid were most welcoming and I'd definitely recommend a visit!

We couldnt have asked for a better hostel from which to explore Central Rio. The owners were extremely helpful throughout with tips on attractions and local facilities. The hostel was VERY clean, breakfast was great and the location couldn't be better for a night out in lapa. The hostel was quiet and laid back, which suited us perfectly. Thanks Sid and Elisa!

Ok, it was night, raining and i thought to myself that Rio was dangerous. Nope, it wasn't. It is just like any other big city in the world(take care of yourself and don't get in trouble). I arrived and was very welcomed in the place. The place is very traditional in style and was very pleased with my stay! Breakfast is good and decent! wifi, close to the nightlife of rio(The Lapa), is quite close to the metro and buses that go everywhere. Mr Hermes(kiddo) will give a nice welcome to all hahaha

We had a great stay at Global Rio. Sid and Elisa made us feel so welcome and gave us all the info we needed to get to all the main sites, Sid also gave is a great tour of the centre and took us places that we would never of found on our own. The location is great, right between St Teresa and Lapa we easy access to all transport. Don't be alarmed by the facade of the house once inside it is as lovely as the hosts."

I definitely recommend this hostel. It's very clean, there's a nice breakfast, it's secure and well located. From there you can go to anywhere in Rio by public transportation during the day and visit Lapa's cool bars at night without worrying about finding a taxi to go back since the hostel it's just around the corner. Above all, the hosts are very friendly and helpful and can provide a lot of information about places to go and how to reach them.

Lovely couple with a cute son, and a good location. Breakfast is reasonable they you are not allowed to use the computer despite the fact that it's in the common area. This is definitely someone's house so you are alone in the rooms and will need to make an effort to meet people.

I really loved this place, though don´t expect a trad. hostal setting, it is more like a small private pension. This being said, the location is perfect for party-lovers, since Lapa and the famous Friday night street party is just around the the corner, Centro is close, and buses run to the beaches. The hosts are LOVELY and being being tour guides they offer excellent guided tours and are very knowledgable. Also, don´t be deterred by the scruffy looking neighborhood, it is perfectly safe!

I enjoyed my stay and the owners were extremely nice. The location is good considering you're walking distance from Rio's business district and close to public transportation. The hostel sits on a hill which is not great to walk in flip flops. The owners also help with directions to different sites. I took the bus and the tube just about everywhere. As a single woman alone in a foreign country I felt safe walking alone at night. Even on a weeknight there are people out and about on the street.
