Location close to the party area. a lot of nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. downtown and harbour just 10min away from the hostel. all in all a good place to stay!

Very good location but Global Village Backpackers should really improve cleanliness and modern conveniences cause it is really the minimum that they offer.

This hostel is really well located and for this cheap price you pay you can't expect more! But if you like to have a clean room, clean floors and a security locker you should not book this hostel! The breakfast in Global Backpackers is very very good and the atmosphere is nice, and not to forget the cheap bar, where you can meet new friends from everywhere!

Small, cramped dorms with not enough air circulation leave the whole place smelling like BO. Bathroom showers had mould growing in parts. Feels like it hasn't been refurbished in decades.

not very clean but cheap an in an very good location. breakfast is free and okay. nice people from all over the world and nice and helpful staff. strange smell but warm showers :) there are no lockers in rooms but an least there are some in the basement where you can lock your laptop etc while you're out during the day. i would definitely recomment it to budget travellers :9

The hostel was as clean as possible however it is a very old building and fairly rundown.. It was a huge hostel, too many rooms for the amount of showers and toilets it provides. "lockers" did not exist, so if you have valuables and arent cool with leaving them in your swipe card locked room then there is no option besides leaving them at the front desk. I left my laptop with reception but realistically thats not safe.

The hostel was very dirty and there was a strange smell everywhere. I had a 'plastic' pillow that felt really bad to sleep on and the thin loose lines between the raw blanket and your body were barely useful nor comfort. It was even disgusting to touch the various door knobs because they probably havent been cleaned for ages and felt oily. The toilets and showers were sometimes so dirty that I didn't felt cleaner afterward.

The atmosphere was great! I was staying at end Aug/early Sept so all students were in the same boat- i.e. unfamiliar and willing to go exploring with each other in groups. I met some good friends due to this. Good job people.

Well. What can I say? It's a cheap place to stay. You shouldn't expect it to be very clean, but at least you get new sheets and towels. The bed is ok and without any bugs which is great! hehehe The breakfast is just coffee, panckages and cereal. It's ok. The best thing about the hostel is the location really. Staff is very kind and give you useful instructions to move around the city.
