This hostel had such a great communal feel. There’s a wonderful main room with a cozy fireplace and couches. There’s also a huge kitchen with multiple sinks, pots, pans, stoves, etc. that is available to guests. The kitchen was just perfect and there were fridges available to guests as well. We stayed in a private room, but had a shared bath. It was clean and convenient. The room was great, not the comfiest beds, but no one stays in a hostel for that. There’s a ton of aboriginal art around the
Loved the decor and vibe of the place! Very comfy beds and pillows. Kitchen was very well equipped and clean. The location is ok. 15 minute walk into town and bus station, but the owner will pick you up from the bus and drop you back off at no charge. Monteith's brewery is a 5min walk and I highly recommend a tour! I wish the rooms couldve been warmer and I didnt like walking downstairs and down the hall to the only bathroom. Otherwise, GREAT hostel!
During my trip through New Zealand I have stayed at a LOT of hostels, and this was hands-down the best so far. The hostel is very warm and inviting. It is very well signed; in other words there are signs everywhere to give information about what goes where and other info. The hostel was very peaceful and quiet, but travellers still would meet and converse. The decor is beautiful. It is also so nice that kayaks and bikes are available free of charge. You should definitely stay here!
Exquisite and absolutely gorgeous. Watch out for specific chemicals in spa......VERY itchy! Very cute WEKAS and lovely herbs! Extremely clean and amazingly decorated. COMPOSTING is the Plus!
