Overall the property is good in a decent location. Unfortunately, the kitchen (at the top above the pool) let it down as often the cold tap would run hot and the stoves barely worked so it literally took about an hour to cook a small piece of meat in a pan. Also, despite a million reminders on every door, wall and window about rules, these were never enforced! We had guys listening to loud music in the kitchen next to our room at 02:00 in the morning and the same dishes in the sink for 4 days.

The best backpackers I experienced in Australia so far (I won't say my favourite because my heart goes for a little one in Melbourne) But Globetrotter is the most clean I have seen and really cheap. Best value for money. Just, don't forget to ask your kitchen ustensiles at the reception when you arrive (20$ deposit) or you will be starving in the kitchen because there is nothing in common (no fry pan, no peeler, etc) And be sure to have rubbed sole shoes, the soil is very slippery when wet.

I was plesantly surprised when I stayed at this hostel As it didnt have the highest rating but i was looking for a quite non party hostel which it definetly was that. This would have to be one of the cleanest hostels I have stayed in. Staff friendly and easy going nice place to chill out and relax After traveling. Would definatly stay again. Love the renovated kitchen and shower room

Window could not open, was next to lounge room. When someone watched tv you could not sleep. There were also fleas in the bed. The vending machine is not refilled every day.

Rooms with ktichen inside, but there are not any hangers for towels or individual lights in th lights. The owner tries to sell any trip to the reef, even if it is the inner reef, because he does not recommend you hosnestly

I booked an 8 person dorm and was given a room with 11 people in it - one on a mattress on the floor. When I asked about this, the receptionist said there is some inconsistency between the internet rooms and the changes they are making at location. There were multiple large t.v's and dvd's, even a wii too. Nice couches - a lot of them too. Multiple kitchens. Great location next to volleyball court part of esplanade and a short walk to centre of town.Outdoor area. Better value than others for $20

It's my favorite place in Oz. Really cool, laid back place, the staff members are really nice and helpful, they kept my bags meanwhile travelling to PNG... I recommend this place!

This hostel seems more like a share house than an actual hostel. Most of the people living there were staying for a longer time which created an atmosphere of a shared house and seemed wired for hostel guests. Most of the time kitchen was a mess and I felt more like I rented a room from some young people not stayed in the hostel. The room was clean and the value for the double room is fine but the location is not great and atmosphere and cleanliness is a huge issue in that hostel.
