Pretty nice beds/rooms. Great lobby area and smoking garden. No locks on the lockers was a downside. We were unfortunate enough to have TERRIBLE neighbors in our dorm who were loud and keeping everyone in the room up, but this wasnt really the hostel's fault.

I have to book a room once a week in Dublin and I always choose Globetrotters/The Townhouse because it has got a good relationship between price and quality. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are always very kind to me. About the cleanliness, it´s ok and enough. The location is also good because is just in the city centre.

I always stay at The Townhouse when in Dublin. The staff are lovely and very helpful. There's a great Irish breakfast in the morning for five Euros. And the rooms are excellent. The only inconvenience is that there is no WiFi in the rooms, and so you have to take your laptop down to a common area where a lot of the kids staying at the hostel are hanging out. There's not much room for people who need to use wireless for work. Otherwise, great place. Highly recommend.

there was breakfast included on website when i booked. i was shown the breakfast room on check in. i went for breakfast and got tray and cereal i was in the q for hot breakfast, was asked for card. i was told that i wasn't entitled to breakfast. i said i was told i was, and i now have cereal on the tray. and embarrassed me and i had to leave. There was a smell of cigarette smoke on the way to the bedroom. The lights are controlled by reception so there is no switch to switch on or off lights

No early check-in or wifi in rooms, only lobby, shower takes a really really long time to get hot, no lockers in rooms. Beds/blankets are comfortable and fluffy though, and near town.

I would not stay here again, nor recommend it to a friend. Among the things I did not enjoy about staying here, was that at 8:45am the hostel turns on the florescent lights to wake everyone up, I felt I was in prison or something, I had feck all sleep with the noise of the other people who had taken our beds and to be forced to get up when breakfast did not come with our reservation, I felt was unnecessary and I did not appreciate it! Next time I will stay in the hostel I usually go to.

The hostel was clean enough and the staff friendly enough but I wouldn't stay there again. Breakfast is not included and I found the rooms to be a bit dirty. Also the first night the light near my bed did not work and one of the lights in the room didn't work for the entire stay. It was extremely hot in the room every night, so much so that I had trouble sleeping because of the temperature of the room. No outlets near the beds.

Very nice hostel for a big city! Very clean and nicely decorated. Good staff. Only fault is the guest kitchen is only open after 2pm! However I would recommend this hostel hands-down. Great location as well!

they refused to allow be to changed beds from an upper bunk to a lower bunk even though the bed below me was vacant for 1 week and others were vacant the rest of my 13 nights there (This caused me severe discomfort while staying there)..The bathroom floor was only cleaned once in 2 weeks..the room was never cleaned properly, it was very dirty..cleaning staff would stand in the room talking while people were asleep instead of actually cleaning.

Room I is right under the dining hall and I was woken up by squeaking floor every morning. Otherwise nice, clean and generally very pleasant.

The receptionist gave me a 8bed room instead of 6bed when I checked in.She changed it immediately after I informed her.My room card doesn't work on the 2nd day where I gotta change one.Receptionists are helpful in providing travel & day tour info.It was a clean hostel.Clean room & bathroom.Comfy bed & with a TV in room.Wifi works well in room. Some of the head lights in the room din work. It's nearby Tesco Express, restaurants and shops. It's just 5min walk to the main street-O'Connell Street.

Great place, only qualm is that we would have liked to have Wifi available in our room instead of just in a special location.

Rude staff, badly made beds with filthy mattresses, nowhere to lock valuables within rooms, and no power outlets within rooms and an annoying 48 hour cancellation policy.

It was a good hostel, really in the center of Dublin. The guy-receptionist (the one we talked to when checking in) was awesome and friendly, but the girl-receptionist (the one we talked to when checking out) not so much - she kept hurrying us to do things. The breakfast was not included, so that's kind of a bummer, but the place was really clean and really safe. We enjoyed our time there and would certainly use the same hostel whenever we go to Dublin again.

The staff was VERY rude and talked down to customers. They also ignored any issues that occurred (lights in the rooms not working, obnoxious guests, etc). Rooms were a bit dodgy, and facilities were not cleaned regularly. I felt unsafe in the rooms/ leaving luggage in their make-shift safe storage room that could be accessed by anyone in the hostel. Overall, I would NEVER stay here again, nor should others.

There are fleas in the beds. I had bites all over my body. Avoid if you don't want to be itching red marks for about a week.

We are traveling inexpensively, cooking for ourselves and this hostel did not have convenient hours for the kitchen. This hostel is joined with a bed and breakfast and the hostel seemed added as an additional money-maker, rather than something specifically for backpackers. The kitchen hours were from 2:00pm to 9:30pm and that overlaps about one meal with no midnight snacks! (My traveling companion made me add that, but seriously snacks are important!) Other than that, this place was lovely.
