Kerry and Adam are excellent hosts and their little touch of offering free soup in the evening is a smashing idea. Would recommend the Glow Worm to all ages of backpacker.

The hostel is located right around the corner from the main street where you start your treks/heli-hikes to the glacier. 6 of us shared a dorm which was roomy. The big windows let a lot of light in and there were heaters and extra blankets for the night. Good value for money.

The staff should not insult the people by suspecting sbd to betray them. Very distrustful. The staff even accused me without having any evidence.

Very average hostel that 'did the job' as aace to stay before going on the glacier - there was nothing to get excited about, but also little to complain about...

Didn't leave an impression on me. The guy welcoming me was probably just tired but it's always nice when you're welcomed properly. I stayed here during low season though, so I guess it's better other times. Nice extra touch with free soup. In general, nice but not anything special.

Unfortunately no lockers and you need to pay for the wifi ... the staff is very friendly and helpful and there is a big eating and relaxing area

Arrived late and left early but the late arrivals system worked&our room was nice with a kitchenette&comfy beds. There were plenty of people in the communal areas so I'd say it's quite a sociable place. We stayed here to do the glacier walk on Franz Josef, but due to a landslip, the only offerings at FJ now are helicopter ones, so we ended up doing our walk in Fox.If we had known,we would have stayed at Fox but they are only 20 minutes apart (we had a car so it wasn't a problem!)

I only stayed here for one night but it was one of my favourite hostels in NZ. Terrific! Free- pick up from Bus Station too.

A nice convenient place to stay. The kitchen area was great and had everything you needed. The hot tub was never open while I was there though which was a little disappointing.

Really enjoyed our stay. The bathroom in the 4 bed dorm could do with some modernisation though.

My husband and I really liked it here. It was a small hostel and our dorm room had a lot of character. Very clean, lots of space to hang out in the common area, a great selection of movies, and a big kitchen. Our only complaint was the lack of lockers in our dorm room, although this seems to be the case with most of the hostels we've stayed at in NZ. Why the lack of security in dorm rooms?!

This was a perfect motel room, with fantastic facilities. Everything we needed was inside the room, which was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The reception staff were very welcoming. Would happily stay here again.
