We have arrived few hours late around 11pm and the hostel was closed! and at the reception at this time, which to my opinion is not that late as for a hostel, no one answered the phone, and the hostel was shut. Very good hostel, miles from the centre of essen/dortmund though. 2min walk from the tram that takes 15mins to get to essen centre. Nice and clean hostel, all looks brand new. When it's warm outside, rooms feel like an oven and it's hard to sleep with the windows open due to the highway nextdoor. It's a real downturn that the hostel has no seperate chill-out room for guests nor kitchen facilities for guests.Nice and clean hostel, all looks brand new. More of a sports complex than a hostel, and the location is not very good. My only complaints are that the walls are very thin and there are no shower curtains. Otherwise it was VERY clean, and although it was a bit far away from the city center it was easily accessible with the U-Bahn. I also got a room to myself which was made for four people.
