The best thing about Goapalms is Peter who runs the budget hotel; he is full of advice and ensures that you get fair deals, whatever you need advice on or help with in Goa. The hotel is basic and in keeping with the more simple living standard generally found in India, but has a lot more than you might expect, a clean bathroom with shower and a lovely western toilet, fan, TV, fridge, extra plug sockets and a back up power source for the light and fan! We also recommend Greedlands Bar.

The only problem is getting reasonable transport from the location to town or the airport. The cabs/taxis charge very high rates to go to the airport or to the town and are available only at twice or three times the rates...
This was first week of our trip in India. We were pretty tired when we get there, but the couple who were running the place was very very kind and helpful. They also give us many useful tips. Beach was maybe little bit far away, about 10-15 minutes by walking, or you can get a taxi round the corner. Room was nice and clean. They also prepare homemade food one day advance and this is something you should try! Better than any restaurant near by.
