Moscow is expensive and I thought this place was expensive until I got there and saw that it's more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. There aren't any rooms with private bathrooms, but the comunal bathrooms are really modern, clean and pleasant. There's also a kitchen with a tap for filtered drinking water and a very nice lounge with leather sofas. The staff are very helpful, speak excellent English and give good advice. This place is exceptionally well-run and efficient.

I have visited 3 hostels in Moscow. Godzilla stands head and shoulders above the rest. ALL the staff were very friendly verry competent AND eager to assist. The cleaning staff were tireless. This hostel is up to par with hostels elsewhere in Europe. I definitely will be going back on my next trip to Moscow. Many thanks Luc Belgium

This hostel is great. This hostel is excellent. But so is McDonalds. It is such a nice, clean, almost corporate facility that it runs the risk of losing its local feel. I will probably stay somewhere else in Moscow next time. That being said, it is a pretty PIMP facility, with an awesome TV room and any DVD you would ever want to watch, great, full equipped kitchens on every floor. The hostel is literally an entire small apartment building in Moscow that they converted.

Andrew is very good & helpful. But, the most important point - the registration fee is very expensive. (The fee is now 600RUB per person which is much higher than the updated travel book (2010) bought from our country)

Was slightly disappointed to have a private room, which was only accessible by going through a dormitory room, which meant that the occupants were disturbed each time I entered or exited. Otherwise good hostel, with friendly and knowledgable staff always willing to help with questions and information.

This hostel was well located with a few of the Metro lines being so close. The staff was very helpful, especially Scott from Carson City, Nevada! Thanks for all the tips and advice for helping us have a great trip to Moscow.

Great location to main sites, easy to get to/from the airport. Staff is helpful on directions. Cleaning staff is on top of it. Common room is lively for meeting fellow traveler. Free Wifi, grocery store is just up the block

Moscow is very difficult to get around as it's not as tourist friendly as other places I've been to.The metro is all written in Russian symbols so make sure you have an english and Russian translatino metro map. It's also best to take with you a more detailed map of the city as the one in the hostel doesn't have all the street names on it and you will get lost. Make sure you get your visa registered in each new city otherwise you can get fined by the police.I'd travel here with a friend not alone

Pretty good hostel. Staff speak English which is very helpful. Hostel is cleaned really well each day and sheets and linen provided. There is a good little supermarket close and the metro is close too. Not many showers though so you find yourself waiting at peak times. Good place to socialise with other travelers too.

The booking confirmation clearly said that the outstanding amount of the costs must be paid by the guest when he oder she arrives. BUT: It did not clearly say that this outstanding amount must be paid IN CASH. The booking confirmations could be improved by putting that information into the text.

The only thing missing at Godzilla's is breakfast service, the time saved and convenience of having a breakfast option is very useful for most backpackers.

A ton of Mosquittos waited for our visit. No help from staff for insect repeller. You have to protect yourself. Cheap and not too far but require metro skills. Stay in late august. Mosquitto may depends on weather :(

Nice stay. The only thing we didn't like is that they tried to convince us to make a registration for our visa (600 R!!). But the registration law changed in march 2011... we stayed only 3 days in Moscow, 2 of them in the weekend, so thats only one official day. We did our registration already in Irkutsk. Even then they told us that we had to do a new registration. Check before if you have to register! In short, the rules are: register only in another city if you stay at least 7 days (excl.wknd)
