the staff were terible and treated the place like there home, the hostel was a dump about the dirtiest ive ever stayed in after years of traveling!!!

Worst place I've stayed at in 5 months of travelling. Dorms are cramped and dirty, bunks 3 stories high. Kitchen and bathrooms are filthy. No common area to speak of and no breakfast. Leaks when it rains. Staff consists of 5 stoner surfers that don't do anything except take up all the space at the breakfast table so that there's no room for the guests, and make you feel like you're intruding. I honestly believe the previous reviews were written by the staff. Stay away!

My stay at gold coast hostel was excellent. It is right on Lagoa da conceicao which is beautiful and very close to supermarkets, banks, surf shops and the bus terminal. The staff are very friendly, helpful and social. The atmosphere is very laid back and social in general as they do fajitas and bbqs for everyone at small cost regularly. Strongly recommend

Honestly, I'd say this was the best hostel I have stayed in thus far. Amazing friendly and helpful staff who makes you feel like home and they keep all clean(bath, rooms, kitchen, everything), the beds are comfortable(room with air condition), the kitchen is very good too, it was an excellent location very close from the downtown and the beaches. I loved it will definately book again :)

awesome staff- helpfull. Great atmosphere. Arranges lots of activities. Good fun, it very easy to meet people. Probably one of the best hostels I have ever stayed. one block for the pub, supermarket, night club. in front of the lake. Thank for everything, i hope to see you soon,
