It was a nice clean hostel with good facilities located in a great area. Artur was helpful and always available. Breakfast is available (in main building only) but since we were in another building a few streets away, we couldn't be bothered getting up early to make the trek. Rooms lack personality. They were very stark and cold. Good value for money though.

This Hostel was really really great!!! I think the atmosphere in Summer would be excellent, however it lacks a little at this time of year. Location is uphill and about 10-15 mins from the train/bus stations - something to take into consideration if you're carrying 20kg's like my friend. Otherwise Maria and the family were absolutely delightful - provided us with fresh oranges on arrival and helped us find everything we needed and gave us some really good tips... Ana Donna Beach! GO THERE!!

Gold Coast is undoubtedly the most amazing place I\'ve ever stayed throughout my years of traveling. The owner, Carlos, and his wife are two of the nicest, most genuine people I\'ve met and they truly want their guests to enjoy their stay in Lagos. They proudly shared Portuguese culture, gave advice for what to do during the rainy weekend, and Carlos even woke up at 5am to put out breakfast before we caught an early bus. Everything is clean, safe, & comfortable - it was a privilege to stay here.

I cannot rave enough about how wonderful this hostel is. It was possibly one of the best ones I have ever stayed in. Sure, the rooms are small, but who wants to stay in their room all day when you're in Lagos?! The staff was SO friendly, hosting Sangria nights and providing breakfast and towels. They provided multiple blankets for the cold nights and even gave me recommendations for my trip to Faro. If I return to Lagos, I will definitely stay here again :D

We stayed two nights in Gold Coast. The staff there (Arthur and Carlos) was very nice, helpful and hospitable. They offered us a soup when we came the first evening. Meanwhile Carlos read us some Luís de Camões poems :). The other day they had some sangria prepared for us. And of course many tips and good advice. We also got a free upgrade of our room, as the one before was being painted. As for the hostel - probably the cleanest I\'ve ever been to, with a nice terrace, situated in the very center of Lag

I had a great stay! As advertised, this isn't a party hostel, but it provides a social atmosphere, which is what I was looking for. The rooms were incredibly clean and the kitchen was hands down the best one I have ever used since I started staying in hostels in 2004. Marcos & Artur were incredibly friendly & hospitable & made my stay enjoyable. I've already told a few co-workers that this is where they should stay when they go to Lagos this summer. I will stay here again without a doubt.
