my friend and I stayed here for a few nights during our stay in Mongolia. the price was very good so we were grateful for the free train station pickup'; also got dropped off as well. Bob and his family were extremely helpful and always had time for our questions. they set us up with a 3 day tour to the countryside, which was fabulous and exceeded our expectations. the laundry was a tad expensive at 8500 T.

Ogie and the team were wonderful hosts. Her network of connections in Mongolia gives her guests many options to choose from for traveling and experiencing Mongolian culture. The tour guide we had for several trips was wonderful. Thank you for making our stay so incredibly enjoyable.

The hostel's location was great, the value was also very good. The security was excellent. The door was locked at all times and the lockers were available for everyone to use. The staff was going through some changes and I think a few of them had no idea what they were doing but the full time staff was wonderful. I didn't use the hostel for any tours but I know people signed up for tours with the hostel. Definitely a good place to stay if you're looking for local experience.

I had an amazing time at the Golden Gobi, they definitely went above and beyond all expectations. The dorms were warm, clean, and comfortable, and the staff was beyond helpful. The trek was awesome! Boogie, Iska, and Mama (spellings?) were all wonderful and the gers and families all so welcoming. Without a question one of the best hostels/treks I have ever expierienced. Stay and trek with the Golden Gobi, you will not regret it!

thank you for a lovely stay! I loved the family atmosphere in that hostel. Breakfast is simple but very nice and you can have as much as you want. All staff is friendly and everything was very tidy always. There was always good tea available. The big department store and a supermarket is nearby, the pickup from the trainstation went very well. So, all good! The beds were a bit hard, but I actually like hard beds :)

Great location, right near the main square and state department store. The place was clean and wi fi worked in our rooms. There was a comfortable living room to hang out in and free breakfast/ train station pick up which was nice.

Owner (Ogie) and staff terrific. Very friendly and helpful. All smiles and always offer you tea/coffee. Ogie and sister very impressive. Come from the Gobi Desert and speak excellent English. Not sure about rest of staff ... Room clean with giant bed. Clean bathroom with hot water. Cool "chill" room downstairs with movies and (slow) computers/Internet. Only complaint is my room was right next to kitchen/living room - main gathering place and loud if trying to sleep.

The staff in this hostel are the friendliest and most helpful I've experienced on my trip so far. Starting with the collection from the railway station, through to organising a fantastic five day trip across Mongolia, and even re-scheduling the final leg of my Trans-Siberian ticket. Apart from the broken shower downstairs, this is the place to stay for everything you need for a wonderful Mongolian experience.

They picked me up from the railway station, arranged a great five days tour to the mongolian countryside and been very helpfull with all kinds of questions. The computers are fast and have photoshop on. And if you need a break from the city you can choose a dvd and watch a movie. For individuell tours for a good price and a peacefull place to stay this is where you want to go!
