The stay was alright. I just felt like the staff was not very concerned with us and they barely spoke English. Or pretended not to. Also it's quite an annoying walk up the stairs. But that's just laziness on my side I guess haha. The room was clean and nice and the aircon worked fine. The atmosphere at the hostel was very boring. I didn't really meet anyone, besides one girl that wanted to be left alone because she wanted to do some sunbathing.

You dont get what you pay for. The room was super hot, with a fan that didnt help at all. We didnt get warm water for shower. The bathroom wall was broken, the walls were dirty (maybe with blood). At least we could enjoy the pool!

Disgusting accommodations. For 1 bed I was given just 1 sheet with which to make the bed myself: it was riddled with holes and bloodstains. The bungalows are shoddily built and let in so many insects that the sheet was covered with bug carcasses after 2 nights. Geckos are regulars. There's no air conditioning and the electricity is unreliable (it was out for an hr 1 night). The toilet leaked and the stench was unbearable. For seven hours, the water was off. Staff was rude and unresponsive.

Not a great location - with no cars on the island its a long walk up a hill to carry luggage. Luckily trollies are available to rent. 10mins to shops / 15mins to pier. The view of an ugly reservoir wasn't great and pool needs a clean. We were kept awake at early hours of morning by drunk people trying to get into our room. No safe and no hot water. OK for a cheap stay, but basic.

Really far away from the beach and no air con...it was torture

My friend and I stayed at this hostel from Dec 30th-Jan 2nd 2016, and staying in this hostel was the worst part of our trip. We rented a private suite which came with no A/C, and when we asked to switch rooms we were told they were full. The bed was just a box spring, and was very dusty and dark. The shower didn't have hot water and the bathroom door couldn't close, so many bugs/lizards came into our room through the bathroom. Will never stay here again.

The photos do not represent the what u get at the room

The room was clean, but they didn't clean it up in five days. The pool it wasn't clean. Is is located in front of a big rubish depositary no so close from the city center (it is a quiet area). The staff wasn't so friendly, indifferent all the time. You can find better options for less than half price

Decent place with the basics. It's quite far off the main drag, and up a hill, which is a small hike but not terrible. Though, PP island is so tiny that nothing is more than a 10 min walk (this one being the farthest). Not great, not awful. Simply average!

Eh not the best but not the worst. The only thing that bugged me were the ants and that the AC took forever to cool down the room. Ugly man made lake thing consists of the view but they sell cheap buckets at the pool. Avoid the red bull at all costs.

Great place to stay. Price is very good for what you get. It was great to have a pool for a quick dip in the morning. The hotel is a bit out of the way (no more than a 10 min walk). The short walk is definitely worth it to get away from the noisy bars and get a good night's sleep. The place is very easy to find if you just follow the directions provided by the hotel in the description. I would definitely stay here again!

Amazing place to stay in crazy party island like Koh Phi Phi... the main area is only 5 min walk away and you also have lot of food places just next door with very cheap prices.we stayed in one of the bungalows on the side of the hill. the climb up there yes was a little tiring but it's OK eating all that good food you need a little exercise. lot of monkeys around there to so it's like staying on a little private dzungl.pool is amazing to and the bar next to it. nice and quiet in the night time.

For a start, there was no air conditioning in the room when we expected there to be air con. We were told we only booked a room with a fan, which was not obvious on hostelworld and there were air con units in both our rooms but these were broken. The rooms were poor quality, the beds were awful and the view of a dam was disgusting. Overall a very bad place to locate a hostel and also there was no safe. Overall do not stay here, it is far too expensive. We ended up moving on our first night.

Awful location looking over a dirty water pit.. Staff very unfriendly, not at all helpful.. No hot water at all. Located quite far from everything .. Booked to stay for 5 nights and only stayed for 1.. Also very expensive for what you get, overpriced. Would definitely not reccomend!!

This place was very dirty and small. Not a good price or spot for your money! Overall, I would not recommend the Golden Hills Bungalow to anyone traveling on a budget.

This hostel is very far. Although it may advertise it is close to the beach/pier and the time distance is correct, it is EXTREMELY uphill and a trek up to your room. The rooms were sparse and dirty, and no one came to clean our room. Our towels smelled like a zoo and were questionable if clean or not. There was no AC, and the wifi never worked from our room. The shower never had hot water (although it was pretty hot so we were able to make do). Everything was poorly lit, and dirty.

Perfect stay if you decide you might want to sleep since you can't hear the partying; but also just a short walk from the party. Clean rooms, but pretty hot. The AC didn't work, and the fan only works when the key is in the room. Bathrooms are good, though you can hear everyone outside the room pretty clearly from them.

It's not a bad place to stay if you're doing it on the cheap. We booked a standard room, not knowing that it was a fan room as there were no indication on the website. We managed to upgrade for 200 bhat pp/pn but still I think there should be a notice saying that it's not air-conditioned. It's located far from the pier and a good distance from the main party scene, which means it's nice and quiet, but it's also a bit of a walk (and uphill). Nice swimming pool.

About 15 min from the pier by foot. Cleanliness could be highly improved, just as the leaking ceiling... Nevertheless a cheap and not too noisy option to other hostels on Koh Phi Phi.

We stayed at Golden Hill Bungalows for a night. It's a bit off the centre up in the hills but that was okay because we wanted to get to the viewpoint anyway which was on the way. The place was alright. It's basic but nothing to complain about. The weird thing was that the walls of the bathroom didn't go all the way up to the ceiling so it's kind of "open". You have to hang your keys at a hanger near the reception which says "Clean the room" or something to get your room cleaned up.
