It is so far up the hill. We were exhausted by the time we got to the top of the hill with our backpacks. The pool wasn't open while we were there so it would have been better to stay elsewhere as the only advantage of this place is the pool. The room was not clean when we arrived and you could use either the fan or tv but not both. I would stay down at the quiet side of Phi Phi next time.

Despite this hostel being more expensive than the ones in Phuket the hostel itself was poor. The walk to it was long and dirty. The "reservoir" outside is a plastic lined pit for mosquito breeding. The private room we got did not have AC and the floor was spongy, like it was not supported. I could see the work they are doing but it has a long way to go. The staff was very helpful but it does not make up for the poor atmosphere and facilities.

Me and my friend where suppose to stay there for three night but after the first night we got bitten SO badly because of bed bugs. The second night we had to ran out from Golden Hill in the middle of the night because the room suddenly got filled with these disgusting big flies and we took valuable things og got to another hostel. Yo can't get any refund there and if you are unhappy the staff is just rude. PLEASE DON'T GO THERE!!

This hostel has the potential to be excellent. Although while I was there the pool area was under maintenance which was a real draw back for the social aspect. Other than that there is a small lobby area for people to congregate. The dorm was ok, hard beds and up a long flight of steps.

The hostel is nice for the price you pay. Accomodation in Ko Phi Phi is very expensive! Also, the hostel is located in a safe place in case of tsunami alert (unfornutelly we´ve been through one during our stay) and that can be seen as an advantage. If possible, pay a bit more to have AC in the room. Very nice staff and good environment!

It was not a bad place, but I think I could have got something similar cheaper if I had looked for a hostel when I got there. There are many options. The location is not bad, and actually came quite handy during the tsunami alert as it is up on a hill. The place itself could be better maintained, it could look much better.

Very nice Place to hang out and meet other backpackers. A bit of from Tonsia Village, about 15 min walking to Bars and Restaurants but that makes it more quiet Stayed in a Fan room. All Rooms have balkonies and there is a dorm as well

Rooms are falling apart. I had no water twice when trying to take a shower, I informed the staff but they didn't seem to care. No curtains in my room and shower head fell off on first use. Place is very dirty, walls are disgusting. I had a used condom packet left on my balcony so obviously not cleaned well at all. Will never go back.

Felt some of the staff weren't interested but were always polite. A short walk from town but did mean it was a little quieter. Place itself had a pool which was good but the area where our bungalow was situated was a little dirty, although they did appear to clean up a bit the day we left so may have just been unlucky.

The biggest asset of this hostel is the swimming pool! After the climb up to the hostel, you can jump in to cool down. The rooms are basic but ok: a fan, good bed and a balcony. The bathroom could have been cleaner with a better shower. The menu was limited, so we always ate out. Overall, it's a pleasant location to enjoy your stay on the island.

Location isn't as bad as other reviews make out- it's 10 mins walk max to the bars etc. Pool area is nice. The thing that really let's this place down is the cleanness of the dorms. Bathroom wasn't cleaned at all during my stay and the people who were leaving on the day I arrived said it hadn't been cleaned while they were there. When people left their bedding, any rubbish they left wasn't cleaned unless someone else was taking the bed. Its a real shame they don't look after the dorms better!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in only had a fan so it was quite muggy and humid, the shower was cold and had hardly any power to it. The room itself was quite dusty. The pool was great and the food served at the bungalows was very yummy!

Really the only hostel on the island! Great for meeting people. Has its own pool. A bit dirty, but the people you'll meet and staff will make up for it. Shop around though. Sometimes their prices are more expensive than travel agents down the road.

The room was nice, but there was a weird smell in it...not too much so, as soon as we opened the door and started the fan it was all good.

Booked to stay for one night & ended up staying for four. The walk up to the hostel with my bags on the first day was a little tiring but after that, the distance wasn't a problem and because of its distance from the beach there was no noise when trying to sleep. Loved having access to a swimming pool during my stay. Would stay again.

Koh Phi Phi in general eloquently shows consequences of poor decision making... My reservation was for bungalow double bed, A/C, but when we arrived all I got was king size bed without A/C.

Owner Comment (Show)
your booking was for a double fan, i did show you this when you arrived on the computer, your booking stated Private Double Ensuite (FAN). we do have AC rooms available but you have to book AC, we can only reserve what you book.

It's cheap, he other rooms looked nice but the dorm we were in was horrible, bed bugs, no lockers, filthy bathroom. Not great but it was cheap and you get what you pay for.

I stayed in a Bungalow at Golden Hills for 3 nights. It was quite large and clean. Pool was nice. Only downside is the location. It is quite far away from the town so be prepared for some walking!
