We loved the outdoor chill area and the constanr supply of toast :)

The overall grounds of the hostel were really homely and chilled. Dorms are very basic but the air con was a saviour. Showers and toilets are shared between two dorms and were in pretty decent condition. Generally a nice vibe and the staff were friendly. Complementary tea and toast was a nice touch. Some nights the communal area was empty but if you're looking for quiet accommodation then this would be ideal. Only slight negative was the cockerel crowing at 6am every morning!

Very clean! Amazing bang for your buck. Great common area for other backpackers to mingle.

We stayed in a dorm, it was very basic, but about right for what you pay for. Beds are really hard, and caused a lot of pain, so don't go if you have back problems. Communal showers weren't great, but right for what you pay. This place is perfect for the budget traveller. Communal area is outside, and a great place to relax.

Very relaxed and quiet place! It's filled with cats, dogs and chickens walking around. The bathrooms are outdoors but are still pretty clean. Come here if you're looking for a quieter place and you'll be happy!

BEST HOSTEL IN CHIANG MAI :)

Good little hostel if you want to get away from the main back packer hostels in Chaing Mai, quite relaxed and chilled out. Great cafe just round the corner called birds nest if you are looking for some where to eat nearby.

This is a good place to stay within the old city. We stayed for 4 nights and some nights were very social in the outdoor common space, other nights were very quiet. The staff is helpful and the rooms stayed cold from air conditioning. Would recommend.

Lovely experience here! Great location but still situated on a nice spacious lawn so you don't feel like you are in the middle of a city. Perfectly situated between the tourist part of the city and the university area. Would highly recommend!

When we checked in, there were no double bed rooms available so they upgraded us to a luxury double bed room and it was amazing. The entire building was brand new and had a modern design. Inside was just as good, with a spacious room, air conditioning, tv, second bed area by large window, nice bathroom with microfiber towels, shampoo and body wash. They also offered toast, coffee and tea for free.

I spent 6 days there. It's only a 15 mins drive from the airport and located in the old Chiang Mai. The environment is unbelievable. The common area is an outdoor patio in the middle of a beautiful garden with palm trees, mango trees...just beautiful! The dorms are functional and do the job. The staff are always helpful. In the evening you can get beers out of the fridge, put your name down and pay in the morning. It attracts a nice crowd. If I go back to Chiang Mai, I'll definitely stay there.

We liked the stay in Gongkaew Chiangmai Home. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Location is ok, but very quiet and safe. Definitely value for money.

This place is a little gem! It is located just outside the main centre, a 10 minute walk. That, combined with the resident rooster makes it feel extremely rural and chilled. There's free wifi, toast and coffee 24/7. The bedroom we stayed in had a/c and felt clean. The owners and staff are very friendly and after going to Pai for a few days, we returned to this hostel for a night. I can't recommend this place enough, was one of the best hostels I've stayed in.

This place is amazing.. Right behind the wat and walking distance to the night bazaar. They have all day tea coffee and toast with home made jam and butter for free. Beautiful garden with a lot of information for tourists.

We stayed in a three bed private room. It was extremely clean and came with its own ensuite washroom. The location is great and the staff are some of the friendliest we've encountered. We rented scooters from them without a problem as well.I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Chiang Mai.

Great location, central but quiet at night. The outside lounge area with big sofas, swing and tables is a big plusplus and we could organize our cooking school course and Muai Thai show at reception. Coffee, tea and toast (jam/butter) is available. The front gate is closed at 20h and you need the key to get in,really safe. Lots of toilets and showers, which were really clean! Would stay again! Only the people staying didnt interact much.
