Very attentive and accommodating staff. They even gave us airport transfers for 100baht. Relaxing environment not too far from major sights. Bathroom was adequate but we did see one cockroach during our stay. Would definitely recommend this hostel.

Double Private Ensuite: Loved the garden and the free toast, bananas and coffee were a nice addition. The aircon and TV worked perfectly. The staff were also lovely and organised all of our activities without even taking a commission. We extended our stay by 2 nights for these reasons. The security is an issue though as staff would clean our room during the day and leave our windows wide open with all of our possessions in there. Despite this, Gong Kaew is a charming GH and one of my favourites.

Clean rooms, friendly staff that helped us arrange a tour, about a 15-30 minute walk (or 5-10 minute taxi ride) from most attractions in the old city of Chiang-Mai.

I have had an excellent night staying in the dorm where the room was big, the air-con was powerful, and the staffs were friendly. There was only one thing that could be improved: nothing for us to hang our clothes in the common bathrooms. All other facilities were good but the bathrooms really need to be upgraded.

Nice quiet Guest house away from the partying (but within walking distance). The staff was friendly and the beds were clean and comfortable. My only gripe was the atmosphere was a little lacking which made it a bit harder for a solo traveler like me. However, I would definitely suggest this guest house for groups of two or more. Definitely grate for families!

I loved this oasis in the city! I was only supposed to stay for 3 nights and I stayed for 6 instead. Very green and lots of nature and outdoor space. The staff are great, always working, cleaning and helpful. For Songkran the owner took us out in his truck to participate in the waterfights. I highly recommend this place!

The staff were excellent, we visited during the Thai new year festival and the owner took us out in the back of his pick up for the day. Free tea and toast was really nice and I really enjoyed my stay here. Highly recommended!

This is a very cute hostel,that\'s for sure. The grounds are beautiful and there is a covered porch area that has a bunch of couches and places to sit and socialize. The staff was really helpful as well. The only thing is the location isn\'t that close to the party area, so if you\'re looking for that, it\'s not the right spot. It\'s the perfect place to come and see the local culture and see temples without all the tourists!

It's a really nice hostel. Great bathroom facilities outside of the dorm, and common area is quite nice. I'm sad I had to leave early as I signed up for a trek. The staff was really friendly and attended to any questions I had promptly.

The hostel owner is a very kind and helpful lady. I really liked her very much. The setting of the hostel is pretty nice. And you can have free coffee and tea all day long.

A great place to relax and unwind, the garden is really fantastic for chilling out with chickens running around your feet! It isn't a party hostel, but perfect for a bit of peace and quiet with a homely feel. The honesty system for drinks and free tea and coffee are a nice idea. The staff are friendly and laidback. Its just a really nice, relaxing place to stay. About a 10 minute walk to the main bar and restaurant area, but that does mean it is very peaceful.

Hostel is excellent. Maybe it is more expensive in compare to others in Chiang Mai and not exactly near frequent tourist places but it is very clean, atmosphere excellent and staff very kind. It has very beautiful garden. All day you could sit or lay there and relax.
