The location allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to visit within the city, extremely convenient. The staff were amazing and were always willing to recommend day trips and restaurants. A really, really great place to stay in Chiang Mai!

Excellent place to stay. Familiar enviroment, confortable rooms and good facilities. The garden and the common area were fantastic. Nice and hepfull staff.

This is an excellant place to stay

excellent time at Gongkaew Chiang Mai Home. The owners are nice and helpful, the room is comfortable and clean, so is the bathroom. The common area in the garden is wonderful, and it is very pleasant to have coffee, tea, toasts and internet at disposal. Also, I want to add that although there is a garden, there are not as many mosquitoes as can be found elsewhere in other GH in Chiang Mai.

I love Gongkaew Chiangmai Home. I stayed here for 6 weeks in 2011, and now that I came back for a visit, I'm very impressed with the improvements the owners have done. The dorm beds are now soft, each bunk has it's own reading light and electrical outlet. The common area has been expanded, with other miscellaneous improvements. I highly recommend this accommodation. When I'm back in Chiang Mai again, I'll be staying here again. Meaw, Sombat & Erik .... We will miss you all.

One of the nicest ostels i've ever been. Friendly staff, nice bungalows with a cool public chill out zone. very quiet surrounding. every tour in chiangmai can be booked for you by the hostel.

Loved the hostel. Great staff, clean, super convenient and met some awesome people there. Only downside is that there are a lot of mosquitoes so make sure you bring repellent.

I like this hostel very much, and everything is so perfect, especially the staff, they are so nice and friendly!

Not a bad place to stay. It was however disconcerting and inconvenient that the lockers were located not in our rooms but outdoors in the common area.

The folks at Gongkaew were incredibly friendly, helpful, and nice. Breakfast (toast with jelly and better with coffee or tea) was free, which is really great for the broke traveler! When we didn't have the cash to pay for our hostel, they drove us to their friend's business so we could charge our cards at their place. That was really nice of them to let us do that. I enjoyed my stay here quite nicely.

Cute place. Fairly quiet. Location is okay if you don't want to be in the center of things like markets and shops. Need to take a Tuk Tuk to get to most places. Shower was supposed to have hot water but didn't and when we asked about it they said they would fix it and didn't. Staff was friendly and helpful.

great hostel, very friendly staff. Bungalows are cleaned every day, free toast and jam, bike rental etc. highly recommended. Defintely rent a bike for a few Bath to discover the city

Great staff - they even put on a free buffet on New Years Eve! Really helpful with organising tours too. Rooms were good, but the bathrooms smelled of damp. Gorgeous garden setting. Would definitely recommend Gongkaew!

It is a nice little place in Chiangmai. Around 10mins from town area by vehicle. Nice and clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. I like the quietness here and easy assessiable to the busy town. Room and toilet are clean. It's definitely good value for the price.

Nice hostel in the old city. It's close to most things in the old city, although you'll want to taxi around anyway. The rooms are good and clean, but we had some ants in our room. The hostel environment is cool because you're surrounded by plants, trees and other greenery, which is quite different than most hostels in Chiang Mai. The staff are really nice and the breakfast is good.

We had a great stay! Staff was extremely helpful! They were not only friendly an welcoming but also they really cared about making our stay perfect!

Great, quiet and peaceful! Becides the rooster that woke us up every morning. Make sure to spend some time in the gardens to just relax, really liked it.
