My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 nights at the hostel and it was really nice place. Staff were really helpful and we could rent a motor from he hostel itself so it was very handy. Rooms are good size and very clean as well, only thing is that the air con can get too cold and we couldn't really turn it down with the remote.
The batroom was very old, altough it was clean
Nice and cozy hostel, near the center of chiang mai. Common room is in the middle of tropical plants. You can have free toasts and tea and coffè all day and night. Staff was supernice and always ready to help or smile
We had a lovely one night stay at Gongkaew. Only have a 15 minute walk to the center of town, restaurants, book stores, cafes, but given the small size of Chiangmai this felt a bit far. Our room was lovely, AC, hot water, one of several bungalows surrounding a small courtyard. Staff/family are really friendly. Gave us a ride to the airport for less than a tuk tuk and no hassle. Quiet nights, a good spot for a couple.
Amazing Staff! By the way, I was in a hurry when I left, so I forgot to pay for a coke and a water. Very sorry about that!
I had a great time at Gongkaew Guest House. Set in a quiet neighborhood of the Old City, it had clean rooms, free computers, and free coffee and sandwiches all day. Their staff is also very friendly and helpful. The whole complex is arranged around a private garden, giving the experience a laid back, homey vibe. The one downside is that the many ponds that dot the yard were absolute breeding grounds for mosquitoes, who swarmed the common areas after even a bit of rain.
Had a wonderful time here, a great little place, excellent staff
It is a nice guest house, very quiet and with a big, nice garden, very good for relax.
If you don't like frogs this is not your hostel. In night you will hear them and in your way to the rooms you think they are going to jump on you. Besides that excellent complementary drinks and toast.
Very nice hostel. I enjoyed my stay. Keep up the good work!
super nice place to stay inside the walls and feeling relaxing with a garden very friendly and helpful staff everytime coffee and toast for free!! we stayed longer than planed in chiang mai, thank you!

Lovely place with a great communcal area, and very happy to help you book all and any tours/experiences you want. Even to the point of taking you to your bus away. Free toast constantly and perfectly good facilities. Recommend to a friend.
Friendly staff/owners, nice setting. Found the location not as convenient as i would have liked. Lockers were good for security. All day toast and tea was good as was having a nice communal area to sit in.
Very relaxing garden setting with free wifi, toast, tea coffee all day. There are small lockers for valuables but you can't lock all possssions away. I've had no issues tho in 8 Bed dorm. The visitors have been great. Location is away from busier areas towards night bazaar. I booked one night and now on night 5. Would definitely book again. Can't get wifi in my dorm which is a shame. I think it's been very good value for money.
