I originally was booked here for 5 days but extended for another week. Personal opinions counts for a lot and I was impressed, i simply could not find a better hostel to stay at. They are great value for your $$ and very friendly staff and other travelers.. it is close to the city and the free wifi WOW. Bread, milk and spreads were free every breakfast, .made my mornings a lot easier to manage. I recommend it to anyone…open your mind and eyes to a great city and hostel. the people were fantastic

My boyfriend and I have been at this hostel for 4 weeks.. we are amazed at how helpful all the staff are towards making our stay there as comfortable as possible. The food and party life styles are so interesting, we learned how to make great fried rice and some new card games. The manager always plays the local Friday night football games on a tv outside so everyone can watch the games and have a few beers together.(there was a couple in their 60’s that complained at 8pm about the tv being too

i have traveled through out Europe and Asia..i was pleasantly surprised at the efforts the staff went to make my stay at the hostel, they picked me up at the airport at 1am..WOWOW ..the hostel also has FREE WIFI...amazing. The hostel has a variety of international people including Chinese and Taiwanese..i had the best fried rice ever as a group dinner and the next night Paul (on site manager) cooked 2 roast pork and 1 roast beef dinner..it was amazing.great hostel.i recommend it to anyone.

Great atmosphere, in this backpacker, I always feel welcome and like staying at home. The staffs are really nice and friendly here. The bathrooms and toilets are always clean. I always see a staff cleaning bathrooms and toilets during bath rush hour. The location is also excellent. It is only 20 minutes walking distance from city center and 5 minutes from South Bank.

Be warned, this is NOT a quiet hostel, and there is nothing 'family' about it, either. We were assured of a quiet double room after requesting one AWAY from communal areas, beforehand. In the end they gave us the WORST room: right at the back of the house (communal areas). That night, the manager sat outside all night getting more & more drunk & loud, TV blaring outside. Also, opposite the ONLY showers/toilets in the building (constantly banging doors). The other staff tried to help.

This is a great Backpacker, unlike most large Backpacker overly busy, I begin to see the feedback is very worried about the clean. But actually, when I take shower the shower room is cleaning. After I taking shower their staff will cleaning right away. I think that is why it always cleaning. I lived different backpacker the kitchen area is always dirty. but Gonow is always tidy and cleaning.I saw their staff cleaning the room in the morning every morning. this is the best backpacker in Brisbane.

Please do not believe the high score of this hostel. I have stayed in hostels all over the world and this was revolting by anyone's standards! I was mislead by this (around 90% when I booked). Luckily we were only there for the night as I could not have stayed longer. When I mentioned to a member of staff about how dirty it was I was told 'we clean all the time, it just gets like this.' That amount of grime and hair balls have built up over months - they do not know what cleaning is!

Very nice hostel. I spent there one week in a 8 bedroom where there was just a couple of fans to chill a bit the hot but anyway not a problem to sleep. Internet free is the ace in the hole of this place, consider that no one other hostel has it. Most of the guests are from Hong Kong. They are tidy and polite but when they cook, the kitchen it's just for them.

Don't be mislead by the high rating on this hostel like we were! We have been travelling for a year around Australia and Asia and in terms of cleanliness this was the worst!! There are 50 beds in total (in various types of rooms) and only FOUR showers and FIVE toilets for everyone. They need replacing as they have never been cleaned properly and with the amount of people are absolutely disgusting!

Staff very nice. Looked like the shower had never been cleaned though! I guess 90% of guests were Chinese on working holiday visas.

absolutely disgusting place it is the filthiest hostel ive ever stayed in. the bathrooms are disgusting and the rooms arent much better. primarily an asian hostel and they dont seem to understand that toilt paper gets flushed away. "double rooms" are actually single bunk bed rooms. the kitchen would be ok but dont expect a space in the fridge or freezers as they are full because of the people that live in this place full time. the internet is terrible it is impossible to use during peak times.

Cleanliness: NO GO !!! Everywhere toothpaste and hair on the washbasin. Mold in the showers. The toilets have not been cleaned for a long period. Only the floor is wiped. In the kitchen were food stuff at the tiles because of cooking. The beds and matresses were new. No Air Condition. The rooms were tidy but had no lovelyness.

Not enough showers, room was bare and one of the fans was impossible to use, attatched to a wall with no sockets. Bathroom facilities were dirty.

Not the best choice if you want to sleep before 1am. Bathrooms have very little space for personal items.

Nice hostel, clean and good facilities. Free wifi, free breakfast (bread and milk), no lockers in rooms but small lockers available in a separate room. Location ok, close to the south bank area and not too far a walk to the city centre. Not a very sociable hostel but quiet and a great place to stay if you're wanting a quiet night. The staff are great and really care about every individual. No handwash provided in bathrooms and if you go to the toilet at night there was never any toilet roll left

Breakfast is only bread and milk. The bathroom is tiny and filthy. The bedrooms are stuffy because there is no air conditioning - it's almost impossible to sleep at night.

I only had to pay 15 dollars a night and I got so much more than I did in a few other hostels where I paid 20 more dollars a night. The staff was so friendly and I was able to have a good sleep every night :)
