Very cozy facilities in the hostel building. Reception was in the next building hotel, very pleasant staff. We enjoyed the silence of the room as well as readily available hot water. Kitchen and living room area were big and cozy. Atmosphere was ok, basic IKEA furniture. Kitchen didn't have enough plates and knifes, other than that facilities were good. About 1,5km from the main street (ul Baumana) which was no problem as public transportation seems to work well in Kazan.

Our stay was awful. At arrival it caused that our room (5-bed dorm) was full and it was said that we can stay in another 6-bed dorm (where living conditions are worse). An assistant wouldn't like to go to our position, she was rude and unfriendly. It's the first time we booked a hostel on hostelworld site and met such a problem. In general, hostel wasn't clean and tidy: in the kitchen there were a lot of bread pieces, the floor in a room was dirty, a shower was broken.
Actually it was not a hostel but a hotel, but this was rather positive.
Gorky 6 is a hotel. Not a hostel. One floor of this hotel is designated a hostel with a common kitchen/dining area. Rooms have multiple beds with an ensuite bathroom. Hotel reception (on Gorky Road) on the ground floor is where you check in. For a change from hostels, this was nice. Clean and just like a hotel. Location is 30 min walk from the station, but good for tourist stuff. Supermarket is 15 minutes walk away in the central area, but there was restaurants on the way.
Great! The staff was really helpful and they were the only hostel during our Transib Trip through Russia that offered to organize the "registration" for free within a day! WE couldn't find the hostel right away.. with just the direction from hostelworld. It's registration desk is acutally in Gorky street and the entrance doesn't really have a sign or anything (at least we didn't see it) but is shared with a fancy - Hotel entrance. The hostel is then in a seperate house next door.
Nothing to complain about! Friendly staff and guests, we felt safe and welcomed.
Nice hostel, and it is quite close to the city center. Rooms are clean and the facilities are good.
