This was one of the worst hostels I've ever seen. Very druggy, very gross people hanging around. The atmosphere was sketchy to say the least. Dirty place, everything was broken. Water ran out daily.

Staff were very unorganised. When I was checking in there was no private room available and we had to wait for someone to return to sort out if there were any dorm beds available. For the second night we were told there were privates available but it was cheaper to book online. I booked a private shared bathroom knowing it was onsite and was still moved to there second building down two blocks which had private rooms and ensuites but no internet. Both days we had to wait for clean sheets.

Didn't have record of our booking on hostelworld.com, ask for double had to settle for bunk beds which were so damp they made you wet sleeping on them, shower was a trickle of water, really bad smells coming from drains. Really run down and poorly kept. Often no one on reception with keys left out. Would only stay here if u really don't care about your sleeping and bathroom conditions even though your paying substantial amount of money

Great place!! Super close to the beach...makes for nice late night swimming or for those early risers. Tequila Tuesday was a great welcome for my friend and I's first time I playa del Carmen. :)!!

We had a room for 3 in the other building. although the windows were always open, the air was extremly muggy or stuffy, and so was the bathroom. Breathing was disgusting. The mattresses were heavily used and you sensed every single spring. Maybe the rooms in the original building are better, but this one i can't recommend.

no sheets on time, no water in the hostel for one day

the room was very wet and all our clothes because of that too. on the walls in our room was a lot of mold. when we arrived the room was very dirty and we had to buy for 20 dollars cleaning stuff. in the kitchen was no toaster, so i had to make my bread on the stove. kitchen was also dirty. it was very loud in the other rooms and nobody from the staff cared about it, although it was forbidden to be noisy after 12 a.m. and we payed about 60 dollars a night for 2 bed private room. that is a lot

DON'T GO HERE! We booked a private room 2 months in advance. One month before we got an e-mail that we couldn't get the room since they were having renovations. Now we hadto sleep on a 10 bed dorm. When we arrived there were no renovations at all. The staff who helped us was not friendly at all. The girl was very bitchie! There was also no water 3 nights in a row when we wanted to shower. I wouldn't advice to go this hostel! GO TO ANOTHER PLACE!!

OK, very basic, a little rundown.

Stayed there before New Years and two days after. The dorm was mouldy and dark. Prices raised to three times the normal during our stay. Usual during New Years but 180 Pesos for such a poor dorm where you couldnt stay longer than the night is for the "we`re the cheapest hostel" still way too expensive. When we first came for another reservation, they cancelled it because "hostelworld" had rooms available, they didnt. Apparently they called us instead of writing us a mail...Better go to Tequelita

Amazing hostel, i definitely reccomend it. Very nice staff and atmosphere! And perfect location, too, just a couple of blocks from the beach and the city center.

good position 2 min away from bus stop and 5 from the beach, clean and really cheap. it s basics but it s got all you need.

I have been very well at GraffitiPlaya.. Nice traveller's aqtmosphere, cheap for what it offers, the crew is friendly, helpful and funny. It is 3 minutes walking from 5th Av, so it's got everything you need, definitely it is the best place downtown..

We only got one key for a private three persons bedroom so that was kinda poor when one of us wanted to go home late in the night and the hostel personell didn't have the key to lock up the gate so she had to sleep in the dorm(for free atleast)..

I enjoyed my stay, this hostel is good, staff are helpful, too.
