My sister and I were taken to a room on the ground floor with the window wide open, which was unsettling as we arrived at 1am. We went to switch rooms and were met by the man from the front desk who said he had given us a room that wasn't ready. So we got a better room but we were both a little freaked out at that point. It's not the greatest neighbourhood at night and the golden accents and dark wood make this 1920s building seem like a haunted mansion.
Good location, maybe Miraflores would be better and safer but also a lot more touristic. The hotel is unique with a special charm. Interior designs from 1920, long corridors, helpful staff

This hotel is excellent, and really great value for the money. It was a luxury hotel in the 1920s when it was built, and it has kept that charm. Ceilings are about 12' high, my room had a den and a walk-in closet too. The breakfast includes eggs, which most places don't, and the juice is obviously fresh-squeezed and not watered down. They messed up my reservation: I asked for a 2 bed room and they didn't have any, so they gave us two single rooms and only charged us for our original booking cost
