Gran Kahuna Hostal Reviews

Gran Kahuna is a good choice for a short stay in Bocas. Its in the centre of town, its cheap and its very social - without being an all night party hostel (unlike some hostels in Bocas). The kitchen and bathrooms could use a bit of work though. Overall I'd recommend it as a good first stop in Bocas - its right opposite the boat dock so easy to find when you first arrive!

I was here just for 2 nights ,it was for me a little bit noisy ,but that was for me ,the rest it was a very good Hostel ,good staff and the best place for a hostel in Bocas .

Sweet Hostel, especially if you are a surfer. Security kind of sucks though, a friend was staying there before I was and I was able to walk in and check out every single room without anyone stopping me. People who sell drugs and don't even stay at the hostel are always in the front smoking, which is cool if thats your scene, but again sucks as far as security is concerned. Overall, I liked it, but I wouldn't stay again because it just gets too hot at night and the single fan wasn't enough.

This is a good hostel in Bocas. Although not the cleanest, the atmosphere is good and its a great place to meet other travelers. The lounge downstairs and the deck upstairs are great for hanging out and it is an easy walk to everything in Bocas town. There's not much security during the day but the lockers are big enough to put your entire pack/suitcase inside.

Nice hostel, but very noisy as people are partying/talking until very late on the balcony.
