What a beautiful historic building with a pristine location! I went to Flagstaff to see a show by myself at the Monte Vista and I was delighted to find the venue just a short, enjoyable walk through town. The hostel had an exciting sense of community, the rooms and bathrooms were luxurious for a hostel, and I did not want to leave! I look forward to going back!

Basically, if you're looking for a hostel near the grand canyon then this is the place to go. I had a car and it was about a 90 minute drive from the hostel to the canyon, but this is still the closest place you can stay for a decent price. I really couldn't fault it - nice rooms, friendly staff, very clean, good communal areas and a great atmosphere. The free breakfast is decent too.

The perfect hostel to relax after you`ve been to the Grand Canyon. It`s a relatively small hostel, but with a very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. And they have very comfortable couches in the lobby, as well :-) Also, you`ll find some nice pubs and restaurants in walking distance.

I think it is important to have hand soap in the bathrooms.

i arrived during a snowstorm. Mitch was very helpful with parking logistics and tour of Hostel. There's a nice yoga studio a few doors down. Also several restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Good hostel.

This was a great place to stay. Lots of character in the building. Great murals on the walls were really cool to see. I gave the facilities a low score only because two of the four shower rooms were closed due to renovations. Anyone travelling there now will have totally renovated shower rooms to use. Grand Canyon hostel is surrounded by great restaurants, cafe's, and shops. Flagstaff is a great town, and the Grand Canyon Hostel is a great place to stay while visiting Flagstaff.

only 3 minitues walk from union station. good place to live for my visit to Grand Canyon! Reception, a 40s years guy, forget his name, was quite friedly!

bad security - no lockers, no wash basin in the restroom ! Only 2 showers/toilets for dozens of people. My bed literally had the springs sticking through it and I got NO sleep all night long. Had booked for 2 nights, but left first thing in the morning ! . . .. NEVER to return !
