About Grande Hostel de Coimbra
Since July 2007, the “Grande Hostel de Coimbra” is located at Rua Antero Quental nº 196, center Coimbra- near “Praça da República” - Coimbra's heart!
“Grande Hostel de Coimbra” is located near the most historical area of Coimbra. You can walk to the University founded in 1290 by King Dinis and to many other monuments in 'Old-Town', restaurants, cafes, esplanades, shops, tourism info spot...
It´s also close to the main transport system (bus, taxi), the best night life area – Praça da República - and the train station that takes you to the nearest beach – Figueira da Foz!
The building is over 100 years old and we keep the original things that make the hostel so special: really high ceilings and wood floors.
The “Grande Hostel de Coimbra” has 6 rooms available. There are two double bedrooms( one of them you can book it for 3, 1double bed and 1 extra dorm bed) in the hostel and dorms for 4 or 8 people. Security Lockers in dorms.
The kitchen is open to all our guests and has all the necessary stuff to cook, so you can prepare your own food and save some money. There are 2 lounge areas and a big sunny garden where you can relax, have a drink, listen to music, read books and magazines, play games or just chat with the other guests. We have free internet, free WiFi, free maps, tourist info and guides, laundry, cable tv plus free coffee and tea all day.
