You feel like part of a family here. Very welcoming and always taking care of you. Food is good. If you want to be at the beach, then a little too far but there is transport for a cost. Sitting around listening to guitar and singing is great. I am going back before leaving Bali!

We did thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and staff in this hostel, and it was a good stay. Yes, it is far from the beach, but we wanted some peace and quiet from the hustle of Kuta, so it worked. However, the water for the showers and toilets rarely worked, leading to unsanitary conditions. The wi-fi did not work well at all, with at least 10 of us huddled around the main hub looking for signal. Finally, overbooking meant people were allowed to sleep on the floor, causing many to trip in the night

Granny's has an amazing atmosphere and I can see why so many people had extended their stay. In the evening everyone sat outside chatting to each other and a bunch of locals and listening to the guitar. Was like staying with a big, happy, international family + I wish I'd had time to stay longe

Granny's hostel is amazing! They take care of everything for you, from picking you up from the airport very cheap to taking you in their transport anywhere for the cheapest you'll find in Bali! The people who fun it are beautiful and kind people and you instantly feel part of the family. It is a bit far from Kuta center, but worth every cent of the $2 cab ride to get actual sleep when you want it, rather than straight noise until all hours of the night. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Granny's is a very good hostel. It is new, so you will have go forgive them for the work they are doing and need to do. Right now, as of April 15, 2013, they are painting and doing other things. We stayed a few nights in the private room. Here are my impressions: 1. The dorm room - either the 8 or 4-bed room is a great deal 2. Our private room was very nice. A good deal. When the hostel is complete, they probably should raise the price. For now, it is good.

The manager of the place was great. The atmosphere he created was much more than being friendly. He was leading people and gathering all together.. When I was there he was serving a lot of local drinks with very nice live music played by very friendly and skillful staff. Apart being far away from the center (which can easily be accessible by taxi), it was very very nice place; especially because socializing with others and locals were such a seamless act.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. The hostel has lots of areas to chill and meet cool people. The staff were verry helpful and I felt like it was home after a few nights there. Food was also good. I will be back!

The staff was really warm and helpful. They are like a big family. Free breakfast was simple and nice. The great part was fellow backpackers' story sharing in front of the hostel at night. Mona(the owner) and I were catching the same flight on my return day. She offered to send me to the airport for free. How sweet!

Actually I booked that hostel to have a place to start for my Bali trip just for one night, at the end I stayed there for for 5. Why? Because this place was amazing!! The rooms and the common areas are clean and you have a lots of space in the hostel. Also it is, and what I really prefer, a smaller sized hostel. The very special thing a about that hostel is the staff and also that a lot of local people enjoy hanging around at this place. I just can highly recommend this place to everyone.

Really good experience. With regards to the location, in reality it's not that long a walk into town, plus you have the added benefit of being down a nice quiet street without the joy of listening to drunks. I really liked it here. The kitchen staff who make breakfast are all great, as are the owners. They're actually making an active effort to provide a decent experience and that means a lot. Thanks!

It’s amazing place! I loved every moment I spent there! It’s 30 min walk from city Center so sometimes it wasn’t so easy to get to or get back from clubs but still it wasn’t impossible and still during the day you avoided all the tourists, shops and noise. Great place to rest, relax and meet awesome people!

Pretty good for the price, quite far from the beach but you get what you pay for. The main cons is that the bed are not confortable, at least in the cheaper dorm... But good staff, nice, and good breeakfast!
