Great hostel that has benefitted from much investment from owner. Managed by very friendly helpful couple. Tremendous location for Munros or a leisurely walk along the Caledonian Canal. It is a large hostel, so plenty of room.

Great Glen Hostel was an excellent place to stay. Not too hard to get to (the bus connections in the area are very good). The staff are very friendly and very helpful and can give good advice about walks in the area and things to see and do. I had a great time in South Laggan and would definitely stay here again.

The view is beautiful from the common room. The hostel is cosy and the staff is welcoming, friendly and nice. We only stayed one night but we really loved it. Beds were comfortable, the room was clean and nice.

I loved this hostel! It was so clean and friendly. The rooms are very cozy, the kitchen is big, and the bathrooms were very clean. They sell food at the front desk (frozen dinners, snacks). It is perfect for anyone hiking the Great Glen Way - just of the path, and great for a good night's rest.

Brilliant value hostel. Great facilities, very clean. Friendly staff and enjoyed doing the Loch Oich Loop walk on their website. Definitely give the Eagle Inn pub a visit if you stay here.

It's a nice place to stay but there are few power outlets for a family room. What surprised me the most was the free wifi and computers in your room! The common area has a decent tv and free board games. We were asked to strip the beds in the morning and toss the linens into a laundry basket which was strange but it was a very nice place OVERALL

Great place to stay. Nice ensuite bathroom to dorm plus additional bathroom across the corridor. Free internet, massive well equipped kitchen. There are however no lockers like in the rest of Scotland but you do get a key to the room.

A must-go for everyone hiking the Great Glen Way ! Just next to the trail it offered us a warm welcome. The cleanliness is absolutely perfect, a nice point after a whole day trekking in the mud... the reception also offer a nice range of products from food to first-aid at very decent prices. We were (almost) the only guest there but the common kitchen / dinner-lounge area must be great when crowded with backpackers! Only "bad" point; except for those hiking there is NOTHING in this area.

The hostel has much improved from when it was owned by SYHA, not only in getting an up-grade but in the amount of things available in the shop on site makes it excellent for those doing the Great Glen Way.

Arrived soaking wet after walking along the Great Glen Way for 7 hours in the pouring rain. Really appreciated that the staff made an extra effort to help the 4 of us dry out both ourselves and our gear and also booked a taxi to take us back and forward to a local hotel for a meal.

We really enjoyed our two nights here. A peaceful, pretty rural location. The room was comfortable and the shower was hot and ensuite bathroom we had was clean. Plentiful information at the hostal about things to do nearby. Kitchen was well equipped and easy to work in. Rooms could do with more hooks for hanging up gear, and shelves to put things on (even small ones would make a difference).

The best of all the hostels we stayed at during our two week holiday, the best by far.
