This hostel feels like a little vacation home. It was beautifully decorated both inside the rooms and inside the main common house. We had our own room with 3 beds and own bathroom and it feels really homey and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but good in the nice kitchen room next door. The location was a bit far out from the center Banos, but the town is so small it's not a big problem. But it is literally like 3 minutes from a hot spring area! It's very lovely at night.

I stayed here about a month ago as well (see my earlier comments about backpackers playing instruments at all hours & the dog barking all night...). Pleased to report that the inconsiderate musicians are no longer here, and if you stay in the older rooms (towards the back of the property) you can't hear the dog (although he is still there, barking half the night!). I stayed again because they have clean, decent sized rooms & a great communal area, and the staff are helpful

Been there for the Carnival (Feb 19-21st) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's a good place to come back from a night of drinking and partying as the sofas, pool table (and a nicely-priced bar) helps with the hangovers. Nice location as well and if you're lucky with good weather then u can sit outside on a hammock and just swing. The staff's brilliant and gave good instructions as to the whereabouts of...well, everything. So go for it. Like seriously. Go! NOW!

The hostel is nicely designed, with a great social common area (well away from the rooms) and a separate kitchen. We had the more expensive twin room with private bath - very good value for money, although we had a (large) bunk bed rather than 2 singles. Our only complaint was noise - lots of 'alternative' Argentinians who sang & played instruments in the kitchen at all hours, and a VERY noisy dog next door who barked for HOURS almost every night. The breakfast is truly awful - make your own.

Nice hostel, nicely located as it wasn´t too far out from the main square. Nice breakfast in the morning. Bit of an issue with the water a couple of times, but all round a pleasnt stay.

Great hostel! My second time staying here, and I´d go back! Great staff, relaxing atmosphere, love the ceiling murals! Breakfast isn´t much but you can add to it cheaply and then it´s good!

Great hostel! The staff is very friendly, and the area is quiet, and off the center (5 minute walk to the church, 10 to the center). The price is also very good in compared to other hostels in the area, specially if you want a place to chill at night and to meet new people! Recommended!

Los Pinos is the most beautifully finished hostal I have stayed in out of over 150 hostels. The rooms are exquisite with murals painted on the ceilings, beautiful tile and very comfortable beds. The Location is good, the staff very friendly ad the common room is great for meeting people and playing some pool. I would highly recomend this hostal for any traveller regardless of age of desired comfort level.

From everything that I've seen and read (and now experienced) this is the best spot in Banos. Just go there. There is nothing about this hostel that is not first rate. The staff, facilities and character of this place are pretty much unrivaled for the price that you're going to expect to pay. -Mike mikemo.zenfolio.com
