We spent two nights at Green Forest. The location was perfect, few mins walk to the bus station, 10mins to the train station and in the centre of the tourist area. Buses 11 and 100 run up the main drag to save the legs too. The lounge area is excellent, very comfy with wifi, bar and food. Our room was good value for money however if I were to stay again I would chose a room with a window. The staff were excellent and answered all queries. Do enforce the quiet after 10pm rule though.

A quiet hostel, the staff were nothing special. The location however was excellent, the whole hostel was very clean and the beds in the dorms were probably the best beds i've ever had in a hostel in China, no lockers though!

I only spent one night here so did not get a total feel for the place but what I saw was good, The staff were particularly helpful and it seemed like a very sociable hostel, I liked having the pet cats around but realise that's not everyone's cup of tea. A little hard to find but overall a good place to stay.

The staff here were incredibly helpful - we had lots of problems with our bags & they accommodated us perfectly, I would have died in the heat without that shower!! The cafe is really good value for money & does lovely breakfasts and the 2 residents cats really make it perfect. The room was lovely & clean with 2 beds on a raised platform - felt very chinese! Wish we had longer to play Majong & the wii! The location is really good too, 10min walk from the station and right on the river.

Immaculate hostel with friendly, hard-working, English-speaking staff. The common areas are very welcoming and the food at the cafe is quite decent. Rooms are very, very clean and beds are, shockingly, oversized and extremely comfortable - no hard Chinese mattresses here! Would certainly stay here again.

Nice place centrally located. Booked the 'Deluxe Double' which was not at all worth the money as the 'deluxe' meant it had a river view which was completely blocked by a tree anyway. Staff were super nice and helpful and stayed up late to let us in.

Really nice hostel. Bar/lounge area is very cool, all kept nice and clean. Staff were very helpful answering all our questions about day trips and onward travel. Only downside was that our room had no outside window, just one that faced the corridor so the room was a bit dark. It was a bit noisy in the morning with cleaning or furniture being moved outside our room and fellow guests slamming doors, but all this is to be expected in a busy hostel. Enjoyed our stay here, good location.

Great hostel. I stayed in a 6 person dorm which was comfortable and pretty clean. The common area was great and the food and drinks were pretty good. This hostel is about midway between the lake and cafes, and the bus station so it's in a pretty handy spot. Staff were helpful with good English. Only downside was that there are no lockers in the dorms, so the only secure place to keep your stuff was with reception.

They were friendly, nice. The place is comfortable and clean. They have cheap and good food and drinks. Their bikes are a bit doddery but otherwise the place is great.
