My personal experience was not good. The manager on duty in the middle of the night opened my locked door and scared the dickens out of me. This has never happened to me in any hotel or motel. And I had asked for a wake up call/knock on the door so I could get breakfast and catch a bus ride to Panama without rushing. They didn't wake me. I woke up on my own with just 30 minutes to get out the door and to get to the bus station. They are nice people but they just dropped the ball on me.

Green House Hostel had everything I needed. The staff was incredible, helped me with a bus, SIM card, where to eat and more. Excellent place, I will stay there every time I go to San Jose.

The bathroom was very smelly, stinky, the toilet and shower was full of hairs, so it was dirty place

I enjoyed my stay at the hostel but it is definitely more for groups or older travelers than backpackers.
