The staff is very kindly and open-minded, we had a lot of fun with them :). Moreover they really took care about us. Everytime we had a problem with our shower or toilet or something like that, they helped us very quickly. The beds are very cleanly. The location is also very good, you need only 7 minutes by foot to Taksim Square. All in all we had a great stay in Istanbul at Green House Hostel.

When I arrived, I was cheerfully greeted by the staff and offered a glass of apple tea to welcome me to Turkey. The shower in my females-only dorm was clean, the water hot (most of the time). The staff were careful to lock the doors behind us, and we had lockers in our rooms for necessities. Breakfast was adequate if unvarying, and the dining area was passably clean. The hostel is within spitting distance of Taksim Square but for all that, it's quiet on a little side street. I had a great time.

Talat, the owner is insanely nice and will do anything to help you. He gave us his own metro pass to use! It's a great value for its money--only 13€ a night! The location is ideal, (MUCH better than the super touristy sultanamet neighborhood) and really close to Taksim square and Iskitlal street (the pedestrian area for restaurants, night clubs, bars and shopping) I highly recommend!!

The staff were excellent from the moment we walked in. They let us keep our luggage in the secure hostel while we explored Istanbul even before and after we checked in/out. Both were very nice and helpful in giving us advice for the city. The room was clean and comfortable. About 5 minute walk or so to Taksim Square, which is a hub for the modern part of the city. Very easy to get to historical part of the city too. I would consider staying here again, no doubt.

Really enjoyed my stay there. The staff were friendly and the beds comfy, and I liked the individual lockers in the room to store things. Also the hostel had character and the rooms were nicely proportioned. Great location too - close to Taxim but not too close!

Staying at Green House was one of the highlights of my trip to Istanbul. The hostel is in a great location, just walking distance to Taksim Square, which is one of the most happening places in the city. The hostel owners are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make sure their customers have a good stay. Breakfast is included and is delicious. I would recommend this hostel to everyone for an economical, clean and pleasant option.

Yes the owners are very nice but this place is only OK. Everybody thinks this place is great and I wonder why? It's OK but sometimes there is no hot water and I couldn't believe it when the owner asked me if I could sleep in the reception area. Of course he wanted me to pay for it. This guy would try to rent the bathroom if he could get money for it. The best part is the location and the internet is good.

This was a great place to stay. just 8 minutes walk from Taksim Square. The staff was really friendly. Talat goes out of his way to help you. Free breakfast which is very convenient. The only thing is that the bathroom on the 2nd floor does not have water and soap. It is located next door. The good news is that bathroom on the first floor has all the necessary stuff.

I thought this hostel was in a perfect location that was close to the city center but in a very quiet area. This place was extremely clean and had excellent accommodations. You will really appreciate the air conditioning in the summer because Istanbul can be very hot then.
