it\'s a cool hostel.it offers almost everything. but the area is not very quiet in weekends

Loved this Hostel!! Such an awesome common area. Met so many amazing people. The rooms are very nice. I stayed in a shared room, there was even a sink in the room. Awesome. There is about 6 bathrooms with showers on each floor, so that was nice. Each night there is either a free dinner or group acitivty. Loved that! I would higly recommend this hostel. YOU MUST STAY HERE

The hostel is in a great location, the bedroom was not noisy even though it is located in a very busy street and with lots of clubs and night life. Staff very helpful. There was a few bathrooms and everytime I needed to use them I had to wait because there was always someone in.

Had a great time at the Hostel! It was the first time I have stayed in one and was not disappointed. Location was fantastic. The only thing was that it was not very clean.

Great hostel! organizing group activities in the evenings, relaxed atmosphere, room was clean as well as bathrooms, good location of room, thus quiet, friendly and helpful personnel!

Had a super stay here for three nights. Great breakfast and the staff are super. Only negative is that there is usually a wait for the bathrooms in the morning.

This is an excellent hostel. Lots of events are organised for guests, but it's quiet to sleep there too! Extra points for non-squeeky wooden bunks.

Best hostel ever!

I\'ve stayed in a lot of hostels, and the Green Tortoise was by far the best one i\'ve been too. As a solo traveler, i met some great people there (volunteered to help cook dinner). The staff was excelent and very helpful, the food was good (free dinner always a good perk), and the rooms had plenty of space, huge lockers for your luggage, personal electrical outlets and lights at every bed, and plenty of bathrooms. They really host a great community of travelers with a lot of daily events.

Great hostel. Have used it before and will use it again. Good location, not particularly close to anything in particular, but sort of in the middle between anywhere that you'd want to go as a tourist. Staff are great, very helpful, and it has a good vibe about the place. Lockers under the bed are huge which is great when you're travelling, as are the individual power points on each bunk. Not much to fault at all. Slightly difficult to get an unoccupied shower in the morning, but they're clean.

I wouldn't change anything about this hostel, it was perfect and perfectly run. Anyone going to San Fran MUST stay here. AMAZING!

The hostel was really good fun and a great place to stay. The staff were really cool and friendly and there was always some activity going on. I liked the fact that their bathrooms were completely private and weren't shared. The place was super clean too and the facilities were great, where you could even have a sauna or sit in a massage chair for a while. Great hostel, if I ever make it back to San Fran, I'll stay here again.

It was a real pleasure to stay there for the night. This hostel makes all for you to meet people and share time with them. I think if I come back to SF i'm gonna stay there more!

The hostel was good and the staff really helpfull. Great location! The downside, noise and screaming every night on the halls and right outside the rooms. There were people screaming, jumping and even crying right on the hall and the staff didn't do much, some of the guests were the ones shuting people off. Other than that, everything was great.

Good fun party hostel, maybe best suits 30yo and under although I am 41 and still had a ball, pretty noisy so if you can't sleep well or cope with little sleep best go to another hostel....Very good location, San Fran is a lot of fun...

The best staff Iv come across traveling, super friendly and lots of local knowledge. Hard to improve this hostel.

Honestly the BEST hostel I've been to. Location may seem a little dodgy, since it's near a lot of strip clubs but it's near Chinatown, Northbeach and Fisherman's wharf. Almost everything is within walking distance. The staff are uber friendly, toilets are really clean, and i LOVE the events and dinner they've organized. Free dinners, make your own breakfast..etc.. What more can you ask for, seriously?

The hostel staff was very helpful and organized. Despite the laid back atmosphere, they are all really serious at their job. I really enjoyed my stay and everything that was offered by the hostel. Thanks.
