we spent 3 nights in the annexe, where most of the private rooms are (with shared bathroom). The room was small but we didn't care much. Our view from both the room and the desktop was extraordinary ! I definitely recommend it. The breakfast was basic, so we only went once. Useful shuttle service to the airport. They organize a lot of event also. Summary: We liked it !

such an awesome hostel for a solo traveller to meet people in the ballroom/dining area. And the staff make sure everyone who goes inside has a hostel key

Cheap hostel downtown SF. The staff was very friendly, with excellent suggestions and many organized events (free dinner, bar exploration ..ect). The common room is awesome: free billiard, table soccer, tons of musical instruments to jam with and free massage chair! And lots of funny people to hang out with:)

Great place, good common area, free breakfast every day, free dinner 3 times a week (more if you decide to eat the left-overs), free wifi (doesn't really reach all the bedrooms but is good in common areas). Common room really cool, big, easy to socialise. They have different events each night too. I was in 6 bed mixed dorm, bed was comfy, each bed has a light and powerpoints, and a locker under the bunk (VERY big/deep lockers), though I noticed not all lockers had doors! Great place, great price

The hostel is fine for backpack travelers. Rooms are very small for 6 people. If you like your sleep a lot i don't recommend cause people are keep coming to the room. Location is great. Staff are extremely helpful. Free breakfast and dinner is ok.

Nice hostel, good staff. A bit "cliquey" compared to other places I stayed whe dealing with other guests. Hostel did a good job organizing outings and getting people to go out together. Good location, close to Chinatown and downtown, Fisherman's Wharf were easily accessible.

I loved the free dinners, the common area is great, makes it very easy to meet new people. The location is nice, there is restaurants and cafes around, public tranportation as well. You should just be aware that guests put loud music very late and the noise goes to the bedroom. I couldn't sleep well for two nights, then I realized that the music was actually at the hostel, but there is 24h reception, so they can easily ask people to turn off the music when it's past 11 p.m. or midnight.

I really loved my time in this hostel right up until my items being stolen and my credit card being used for unauthorized charges. I realize this does not have much to do with the hostel so much as the individuals staying in it at the time. And for that I am deeply sorry that one became entwined with the other. I think the hostel has a great social atmosphere and I definitely made a lot of friends. The free dinner was wonderful, as were the staff.

My.second stay - still.a great hostel. One suggestion, could you implement personal curtains for each dorm bed like GT in Seattle

I stayed in there from Saturday to Monday and I felt lack of entreteient provided by hostels to meet all the guests. Maybe if during the weekends the hostel might provide a sort of tour in the pubs, nightclubs and stuff like that.

Great hostel - lots of activities, great social atmosphere, nice breakfast, and the dorm rooms were pleasant and clean. I stayed in 4 hostels in San Francisco and this was my favourite.

Staff were really nice and down to earth funky. maybe a little loud on sunday night with the music, but I guess you wanna party its good. Just FYI "parking" means - there are parking lots around the area. No Free Parking - of course I should have known!!!
