pros: free toast with peanut butter and jam, free dinner 3 times a week, great location, curtains, and lamp for each bed. cons: the door to every room SLAMS shut. I stayed here last year and I could not sleep because every time a person went in and out the room the door slams shut, theres no way around it.... the doors are built that way. This time, I had the same experience,,,... those door are so loud, it would wake me up every single time. no internet in the rooms, only in the lobby.

The hostel was quite OK, unfortunately though I was woken up by noise from the street workers outside - the windows don't seem to hold it back...

I had a pleasant stay at the hostel. It was located right across the street from Pikes market and I had a chance to look around downtown Seattle.

Easily one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Rooms were not crowded and very practical in design, bathrooms were huge and very functional, security was excellent and the location is great. I was very happy with my stay there.

Although I only stayed at the Green Tortoise one night I was throughly impressed with the customer service from the staff at the front desk who were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were great, I love it how the bunks have privacy blinds, the communal areas were very social and the location is also very good.

The staff ranged from taciturn to extra friendly, but overall everybody was extremely helpful and accommodating. I, personally, felt very welcome and appreciated, and I had loads of fun. The hostel draws a good crowd, generating great conversations and opportunities for new friendships. I loved it!

Great value for money given the location. 24/7 access and no "lock out" time is nice. They offer dinner on select days and when I was there, it was Tacos. It was included for free and was fairly decent. I felt that graveyard shift wasn't very nice, but the rest were cool. Common area is where the fun is at. I can't fault the place for it, but my room wasn't very pleasant. It was way too hot and the roommates smelled HORRIBLE.

A very cool place, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds with privacy curtains. Located right across the road from the pike street market and within walking distance to other Seattle attractions. The hostel pub crawl was a lot of fun. Good value for money.

While at the hostel I was thought to be having a heart attack. The staff - Especially Lien were calm and helpful in getting the paramedics to the hostel and assisting with my clothes and baggage. The evening taco dinner was a treat that my friend from an expensive hotel said was the best meal he had in Seattle!

One of the best hostels I have stayed at (and I have stayed at many). As soon as I walked in I felt good - a real backpacker / youth hostel. Free internet (though it can be slow), excellent location (Pike Place Market), good atmosphere without being too rowdy, good staff, nice rooms (beds have curtains, lights and lockers). The bathrooms are best I have ever seen in a hostel. I was very happy to stay here.
