Awesome place. Great location, helpful staff, cook your own breakfast. I recommend the free walking tours, meeting new people and having an adventure or three while you stay here. It is like a college dorm, so if you can't handle that, spend at least three times as much and get your own room in a hotel downtown. Excellent value.

This was our second stay here, and we were still very happy with our experience. Check-in staff was very friendly and able to change our reservation last minute (at our request) to a queen bed instead of two singles so we would have a cheaper stay. Thanks! Location is awesome (a bit loud, but it's expected being right downtown), HUGE lockers in the rooms are excellent. Enough bathrooms. Showers are ok (not much pressure, but always hot). Breakfast is toast and fruit.

First time staying at a hostel in the U.S. but I have stayed in many throughout Europe and this one fits the hostel image, friendly people, fun, and inexpensive.

The staff was amazing, down to Earth and either had an answer and direction for every question of were willing to find out. The staff really know Seattle and I would say aside from the other travelers, they themselves really made the experience worthwhile. I look forward to more adventure when I return in the future.

A friend reccommended this hostel to me and I can honestly say it was one of the best hostels iv ever stayed in. Very chilled out, washrooms and dorms were awesome/spotless. I loved the smoking room and the dishwasher :)

Great location, beds were comfy enough but you're only given a pillow, top sheet & woolen throw rug to sleep with ... Pretty cold on a 1degree night!! The vibe wasn't as good as I expected with most of the guests being anti-social and/or 40+ No hair dryers in the shared bathrooms either?

My brief stay the Green Tortoise Seattle Hostel was overall pleasan, and the front desk staff was very helpful. The only concern I had about the place was its odorous bathrooms on the 1st floor. This might be due to the efficiency toilets installed where quick flushes and smaller water tanks are used. One possible solution is to use more bleach in the systems, or use bleach tablets.

Loved staying there. The pub crawl was fun. A few small complaints... the door to 103 really needs to be oiled. Please place hours of your laundry facility on your website and in plain view. I had the super inconvenient circumstance of not being able to do laundry when I needed to and had to wait till I got home. I also had issues with your bathroom sinks, I am shorter than the average, but it was very difficult to wash my face without banging my head against the shelf.

Overall, I really enjoyed the stay at GTH. The staff was very courteous and professional. The mattresses were a little stiff, but for $30 a night, it was not bad. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was phenomenal; always clean! Great location in downtown Seattle and close to everything! The only suggestion I have for improvement is to have the lobby area smell more fresh as it smelled musty and like body odor. Not a pleasant smell to walk in on.

I really like the location, just next to the Pike Market. I do enjoy the free dinner; I had two! Taco and spaghetti. I really like the energy of the staff-they are always willing to help and they are so dedicated to providing different events for us!

Great hostel but the rooms were insanely cramped. You should be able to open a locker and a door at the same time!

Great location. A good place to meet people (with the free diner and other activities or even just hanging out in the lounge). Also a great place to stay to get to know the city (walking tour, discounts on shows and museums, etc).

This was one of the best hostels that we have stayed in. We only had a couple of hours in Seattle and wanted to see as much as we could. This is the best location in Seattle. Highly recommend the hostel and if we are ever back in Seattle we will be staying here.

I was there at a quiet time (my room only had a couple of beds occupied) and I thought the place was great. The privacy screens, power points and personal lights were great. The bunks had solid construction so I couldn't hear other people moving about. Staff were courteous, were helpful when approached and left me alone otherwise. This was my first time at a hostel and I was a little dubious, but I would stay at a Green Tortoise Hostel again based on my Seattle experience.
